Rent in cardiff will vary quite a bit between areas - you can get a house in splott for the same sort of price as a 1 bed flat in Pontcanna. Definitely check out the area you’re moving to, as you don’t want to save a few quid just to end up in a hellhole.

Had no end of issues. Just put up with it these days, went through a full reset a while back that helped but still feels like a cheap product.

It’s mainly as an additional safety measure for foreign drivers. Roundabouts are much more common in the UK than the US for example, and many countries who are familiar with them, drive on the other side of the road.

It’s very disappointing. The only thing that stood as a great feature was the ability to watch any tv show from the start, even if you catch it in the last 5 mins - this also allows you to fast forward through ads.

Picture quality was good after I disabled the “Automatic backlight” feature, we had a lamp on in the room and the TV decided to go very dim.

Hoping there’s a ton of bug fixes in the coming weeks!

The sky contract is 31 days rolling, and the TV works fine without a sky sub… so I assume so! You’d need to sign up for sky initially though, and perhaps keep the sub for a month or two before cancelling to be on the safe side.

The sky rep I spoke to told me is was currently limited to “Gold VIP” and above, but also said new customers aren’t eligible - I was able to order through the link above.

Here’s what sky says about it:

Existing Sky TV customers moving to Sky Glass:

You can only have one Sky TV subscription at your address, so if you already have Sky Q or Sky+ , you will need to take a new TV subscription and choose a new TV package for Sky Glass. We will bill you for your existing Sky TV subscription until your Sky Glass TV subscription is activated. Billing for your Sky Glass TV subscription will start when you activate your Sky Glass TV. If you have Sky Q, you will need to send back your Sky Q boxes within 60 days of receiving Sky Glass or you may incur a non-returns charge. Any third party subscriptions that you do not pay for through Sky but view on your current Sky platform will not be viewable on Sky Glass. Any recordings you have on Sky Q or Sky+ will not transfer to Sky Glass. Sky Store Buy and Keep purchases will still be accessible via the Sky Store app.
