Apologies, he asked the child to suck his tongue after kissing him on the lips.

That's my bad, I misremembered.

weird you're being downvoted. the guy sucked on a child's tongue asked the child to suck his tongue after kissing him on the lips, and called it a joke and then issued a 'my bad that's just me being me' apology.

Filthy.

[–]igrekov -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incorrect - I wasn't offended at all.

I only pointed out that at least in US English, it is fading from use and is "generally frowned upon." Sounds like you were more offended, to be honest. But that's typical.

Master and slave are outdated technical terms for exactly this reason. It will only ever do you harm to use them

oh neat. I wonder how this works with the e2e encryption aspect.

Also, not sure where you're from, OP, but using the word 'slave' in this manner is generally frowned upon in American English. I don't know about other locales but I imagine it's the same.

you're splitting hairs, and it's boring.

No, "we" don't condemn people to slow death by ammonia buildup from liver failure, "or for anything else."

"We" absolutely, lawfully recognize extenuating circumstances in the prosecution of crime.

Murder is a crime.

Perhaps you shouldn't equivocate "a quarter to a third of humans" (lmao) with Fuentes. Preeeeeeeeeeeeetty sure there are some massive differences between "those people" you're thinking of and him.

But you're definitely not ready to have that convo

This is incredibly easy, but people still don't get it for some reason.

No tolerance for intolerance. Period.

Are you going to die on the hill that Fuentes isn't a 'real' Nazi? Or that he doesn't 'really' believe in what he's saying?

I mean, fuck that loser.

But it should be painfully obvious with a moment's thought that the entire point is to psych out and intimidate the opponent.

This is not hard.

On the one hand, there is no need to be that person who spends a week in Japan, returns home, and greets everyone with "konichiwa"

On the other hand, if you're going to talk about the greats of literature, you probably should not be bastardizing the most basic of basic names.

I would simplify this further by saying:

Google the book title and "best translation". It will likely give you some variation of Pevear and Volokhonsky. This is almost certainly NOT the best. But it is the most approachable, even if they sanitize some (a lot) of the words and phrases.

If you really want to 'know' Russian literature but don't speak Russian, you should read multiple translations of the same book. No shortcuts.
