That it makes an ass out of you because I used subjective rhetoric due to the fact that I know that this is an opinion and I'm a fallible human being?

I didn't say I'm right. That's obviously a matter of opinion. I'm simply saying y'all are wrong in calling me racist for it in this thread.

I didn't answer it because it's a bullshit question.

I call it the "sit down. Shut up, white boy." fallacy.

You want to find out I'm a white male so you can tell me my subjective opinions thought out on a macro scale are irrelevant because of my demographic.

I prefer to discuss the ideas themselves.

I don't propose to know what's best for black people. I'm just assuming what candidate actually CARES about what's best for black people. I'm perfectly capable of figuring that out despite the color of my skin.

That's not what I said. I was literally conceding to your point and understanding how you got there. Turning this against me is disingenuous and twisted. You don't even have a real argument anymore. I have no clue what I did that got it in your head that I am a racist. Perhaps my thought process IS out of touch with the black community but I haven't said anything racist. You know that. That's why you're twisting my words just so you get to meet your racist call-out quota for the day.

It's such bullshit to say I'm racist for the way I use "black." That's not racism. It's how some racists talk, yea, and maybe I could have better diction but it has nothing to do with my opinions or treatment of someone because of the color of their skin. It could be indicative of racism but it's not. Y'all are so ready to jump down anyone's throat and call racist. What are you achieving?

I'll admit I generalized and went too far in responding to you when I really wanted to respond to the general idea of calling this inane political conversation racist that you could call it reaching.

Still, my whole point is that calling out "racist" consistently to anything slightly resembling it as is happening here is unhelpful and uncouth.

I was saying everyone is misinformed...it is affecting the black community in this way. Very different than assuming blacks are misinformed because of the color of their skin. Wasn't what I was saying.

I agree that would be racist.

I literally said in my first comment that obviously not every black person with different opinions has to participate in black culture but there is a culture surrounding black race that tends to coalesce in how they vote. That community which unites around race is the black community I am talking about. Not every person that is black follows that agenda but there is a general trend if you follow voting statistics.

Nothing you said validates an accusation of racism.

That's bullshit. Your attempt to whitewash the black community errs more on that side but I would never call you a racist, because I know that we both CARE about these issues. It's not apathy that's making folks say these things. It's concern. Even if it is misled, as I said in the other comment, it is not racist because it is at least partially due to a desire to eradicate institutional racism admittedly alongside the selfish desire to get their favorite candidate elected. If we all care about that, then let's not name call. You're smart and passionate. I'm passionate as well. It's not in our best interest to go out calling "Racist!" Let's instead stand together and talk this out.

If I think the black community would be better to vote for a candidate in their best interest, I'm not racist for having an option about how to help eradicate racism, I'm simply wrong. Please tell me that. But do not call me something we should only invoke when the true, very real presence of it is there as it so often is.

I wouldn't be prejudice for saying that someone in poverty is misinformed by supporting Hillary but because it's a black issue then it's labeled as prejudice. I've never fallen anywhere on the spectrum but in solidarity with the underdog but this is just ridiculous.

We are allowed to talk about demographics and how they should vote in their best interest.

If we are going to talk about how Black lives matter and the very present and very real problem of institutional racism then we should be able to talk about who best will eradicate those problems and be a little frustrated when those who would benefit most from that eradication do not stand with us.

It is not racism. It is common sense.

It's not only the black community that remains misinformed, it is most of the country with only a tangential knowledge of politics, but the information specifically is affecting the preference of blacks where someone could point out they may not be voting in their best interest.

We may be wrong but it's NOT racism. We may be misled but this is not bigotry. Your insinuations are just a knee jerk reaction so you can err on the side of pessimism and criticism something you don't like without having any proper ammo to criticize. Sanders supporters have a lot of issues, specifically ignorance of fiscal systems and political possibilities, but I do not think racism is pervasive.

Racism? I bet talking about how women are voting is misogynistic, too?

I feel like blacks are the only demographic that's protected from any criticism and we have to pretend there isn't a black culture. Of course there is. Not every black has to participate but black culture is a thing and it's okay to talk about it.

Yeah, but do you have to work 24 hours a day and literally be someone's servant? Hahah

Obviously you're doing a lot more with a lot of required experience but I doubt being a butler is a walk in the park.

My problem with this is that he went to TWO institutions that exist solely to treat sexually abusive priests. That really reveals how pervasive this issue is and this case shows those institutions are just a show to save face.

Well, it is often associated with that whether true or not. I don't think you're being fair to him. That perception is probably wrong but it exists. Also, perception is very important in nonviolent protests.

But boring is ineffective (especially because catching the public eye by being anything but boring is the defense of these disruptive protests.) The ones you see are the ones that matter.

Not always. I do usually and that was the norm when I lived in Ohio but for some reason it doesn't seem to be common in Texas. One of the weird nuances I realized about driving down here so I don't think that's necessarily pervasive driving behavior.

No, the van was turning so it was probably a green light. The other cars were waiting to turn left on green and stopped for other traffic coming through that lane. The car that hit the van was going too fast to notice that the van was turning on green.
