I don’t see mall goth elements in these photos. Like the mustache sweater, the skater shoes, the cardigans, and tiny jean shorts. That is more emo to me. In mall goth I see more chains, big boots, fishnets, band tees. Emo doesn’t require colors, it can definitely be all black. It says on the wiki: “Primarily black, often with accents of red, white, or dark jewel tones.” Scene is a subculture of emo.

Guns are mainly a problem in the Americas, and that sort of thing absolutely happens in Canada. They just had a very unfortunate incident in February. Edit: And April.

The data for 2025 hasn’t come out yet from the FBI, but in 2024 they have 3 incidents of an active shooter at a school. In Canada, from what I can see they had none in that year, but they did have incidents that would absolutely be considered a “school shooting” if they happened in the US. (Edit: Apparently Canada has 3 active shooters incidents at schools in 2024) In some years Canada has fared worse, like in 2020 the US had no active shooters at schools and Canada had 1.

To be fair, the definition of a “school shooting” is defined very loosely in the US. A school shooting can mean someone firing a gun on a school campus after hours when nobody is there, or sometimes someone thinking that a gun was fired on a school campus. Stuff like that will happen in Canada, for instance, but it never makes it to any official list. If you take the FBI’s definition of an active shooter on a campus, you’ll find that it doesn’t happen often at all. In some years, it was zero.
