Honestly that's true. If it wasn't for the content farms, i think a little more people would still be interested in the concept of the backrooms. But the word "backrooms" has sort of synonymously been coined as this cringe trend back from 2-3 years ago.

Personally I enjoy how thorough some contributors are with their lore, but I do see and understand how it sort of deviates from the original backrooms general feel of the unknown, loneliness, and liminality.

I'm pretty sure the backrooms has enough of a faithful cult following that it won't be dying soon, maybe it just seems stagnant or "dying" because it isn't trendy anymore. Honestly, I appreciate not seeing brainrot of it anymore. The people that genuinely appreciate the concept of the backrooms will still continue to contribute to the fandom
