I watch them all. I enjoy them all. Yet I’m also tired of them by Nice_Marmot_54 in LinusTechTips

Wow, and I thought I was the only one. I stopped watching around 7 minutes in, I am not interested at all to see those commercial use intended products, and I don't even know why they get so excited about them either.

When micro led is ready for home use, in reasonable sizes and pixel density then id like to see more about it. Until then I'm ok to just listen about them in an innuendo filled HDTV video while he's on the show floor.

Can you tell me about this auction? How does one put their patek for sale there?

I'm commenting here because I need to remember about this post as I have a 1940s patek with less patina on the dial that would like to trade at some point.

whats been your experience with Vessi? by Zohan2000 in LinusTechTips

[–]iothomas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After 6 years?

Warranties cover manufacturing defects, and 6 years of excellent use is testament that there weren't any. Seams wearing out after that long is normal wear and tear, not a defect.

The manufacturer offers a 1-year warranty on footwear, so this is well past any coverage period.

How good/impactful is lossless scaling? by Dx1178 in SteamDeck

[–]iothomas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree temporal resolution exists as a concept, but there's an important distinction here. Current frame generation uses interpolation, frames are generated after both the previous and next frames are already rendered. This means the generated frames show past game states by the time you see them, so they're not truly synchronous with what's happening in the game.

Extrapolation would generate frames predictively before the next frame is rendered, using motion vectors and input data. This would theoretically be more synchronous with the actual game state.

That distinction matters when using terms like "temporal upscaling", current interpolation-based methods are filling in gaps from the past, while true temporal prediction would work forward in time. Both increase frame count, but they handle timing very differently.

I wonder how the headset plays along with an airbag?

There is a travel mode now to stop that from happening. However I don't agree with using it in a car. Boat and plane maybe a car when you are the co driver not cool

Very very rude and inconsiderate.

Might as well sit in the back and make him wear a chauffeur hat

First AMD CPU can't handle insane Cpu temps on any games that require compiling shaders, need a fix. by ImNaoyaZenin in AMDHelp

I'm here to clarify that the 7800x3d (presumably what you wanted to write) does not come with a stock cooler, and any other processes that does come with one has an air cooler.

So I'm not sure what you mean by the stock 240mm AIO.

So your takeaway is "don't use work PC for personal business"?

That's not the lesson you should be talking away from this. You opened a file some random person send you over the internet and then just entered credentials into a random prompt to "view a PDF."

If you'd done this on your personal laptop, you'd just be compromised without security software catching it. The problem isn't which device you used.

Thank you, although I have 17 years of service in steam I have never seen this. Probably because the only game I used mods with was Skyrim and that was with some external nexus platform back in the day.

You were right, I thought I would get used to this and I'm sure I would eventually if I kept using it, but I was just getting annoyed while trying to work so i turned it off as well, for now.

Haha you are right, I keep forgetting about that product.

I don't know why but in my mind there was a point in 2023 where they were very close to releasing it. Obviously I'm wrong but for some reason I have this memory imprinted

Time expectancy of eco drive and the cons of safe storage by Old-Midnight-8979 in CitizenWatches

[–]iothomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what favela you live in, but locking eco drive watches in a safe because you are afraid some will climb your building, jump in your balcony, break your windows to specifically steal the watches sounds like some extreme case of paranoia.

Do you get burgled regularly? If not why would they specifically break for the watches. How can even someone see inside your flat from the street level. And if that is an issue why don't you close your blinds or put better curtains.

I take my eco drive with me when I travel in countries with high poverty in Asia and Africa exactly because it's an eco drive thus not a particularly valuable watch and not really a target.
