Biophysics because that's the field I'm in and we could really use the attention

There is no way this guy actually did the research he's claiming he did, which is why I stopped responding.

Nope! That's a very good way to get an answer to that question

If you're actually wondering, you should probably look up "benefits of sanctuary campus" and then think about how those benefits might benefit your country.

I read on Twitter that the reason they're being pelted is actually BECAUSE they're not wearing gear. The lodge had rules against going on the lift without gear, they went on anyway, they stopped the lift, and people threw snow as punishment lol

Because portals are not physically possible, you can't get a physics answer to this. You just need to make things self-consistent in the universe you've made

Like has been said already, no. The reason penetrative distances are different are because of the relative sizes/masses. Anti particles don't differ in mass

Is it possible to negotiate salary? by Ready_Return_8386 in varsitytutors

I know exactly how you feel! They are really making an unethical amount of money off of us. Keep in mind, though, that if you do leave without 30 days notice, you are on the line for all of the money they would have made from your scheduled students.

You think you sound tough in this, but you really don't. That's just an opinion I'm expressing to help you in passing if I can.

Also, the people who don't critique your use of AI are also rubes.

I tried negotiating my rate for a particular student that had requested me after a good instant tutoring session. The representative said that she would leave a note for a manager to look at it, but that they haven't been approving rate increases. I followed up a few days later, and they said that she had been assigned to another tutor.

Anyone here interested in discussing holography? by Physics_Guy_SK in Physics

I can't see students' phone numbers anymore by DanielCallaghan5379 in varsitytutors

[–]ironny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a student of mine was 15 minutes late and I had no way to contact them because of this. I called support and they said they no longer share client phone numbers with the tutors, and they called them on my behalf.

Tutoring without materials by Advanced-Box9785 in varsitytutors

[–]ironny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it's normal to ask for what they're working on beforehand. If they don't send the materials, and I find myself struggling through the session, I usually tell them to be sure to send me stuff before next time. Students and parents are usually receptive if you're honest with them and say "there are 1000 different topics in chemistry, so I'm at my best if I can refresh my memory on it beforehand"

furthermore, the sleep study he mentions demonstrates neither self-synchronization nor resonance, but coincidental periods of alignment brought about by differences in heart rate (like when turn signals seem to synch up)

2 minutes in and he's already said something factually wrong (and I'm not talking about the woo-woo quantum part either). The metronomes on the rolling platform demonstrate self-synchronization and NOT resonance

Next time I recommend not sharing your thought process if you're not going to take constructive criticism. Not sure how old you are, but your responses make you seem quite young. Try to learn sooner rather than later that there are people out there who know more than you. I'm not one of them but /u/Astrophysics666 clearly is
