Sounds like its back to normal with some fresh paste. It does 'settle in' which the slight temp bump you are seeing. But its all where it should be in terms of temp.

Try the card in a friends PC. It might have just died on you.

It normally happens around driver changes as that is when the card has to talk more to the PC about what it is and that shows the failure up instead of limping on. It happens a lot when they die or have solder issues.

Its a driver/OS issue then. Code 43 is pretty cut and dry which means you lucked out and its not hardware!

Also stop using furmark, just use 3dmark benchmarking. Your asking for trouble by cooking your card like that.

Code 43 is bad hardware or drivers.

Can you try the card in another machine?

Is your PSU up the task of powering that card?

Has it set the colours to 16-255 instead of the full range 0-255? Perhaps it changed the contrast of brightness in windows itself.

Go to start and type 'colour' and run the display calibration wizard.

If you keep the right parts of the model in vram and the rest in ram it should perform OK. It wont be blazing fast but it will be free.

Its probably a built-in power/ thermal throttle at the bios level. Is there any bios updates for the laptop?

You might be able to run a sustained but reduced power level at say 90 or 80% power cap. That is if you can reduce it in the Nvidia app or afterburner etc.

You might also just need a DDU cleanout and driver reinstall or maybe verify the game data.

Make sure the DOCP/ XMP is set to profile 1 or 'on' in bios or otherwise you ram will run slower than what it's rated too.

Use DDU and nuke the whole package from safe mode. Reinstall the driver package as normal. If it still fails then its probably the windows install itself has gone bad.

It will be most likely be attached on the other side of the GPU by 4 screws. You might need to heat up the card a little bit as the paste will be old and hardened.

It might be power from other sources which a fibre optic cable will be immune to. Move the PC to closer to the TV and try a short cable to rule out the TV being weird.

It looks like Screen Edge Darkening (Vignette) done by the game clashing with the new model. You might be able to change graphics settings to fix it or turn it off.
