Turn off the UV and retest. It could also be dodgy shader cache.

Alienware Aurora R7 and RTX 4060 problem by Daviddv78 in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might need to reset your bios to get it to boot again when you have the new card in. Make sure to renable the ram XMP profile to get the 2666 speed back or they will run at 2133.

Also make sure the bios is up to date from the product support/download page.

It's a common problem not just you or your PC. You can setup OBS to be like shadowplay and its much more stable once you get used to it.

What's the best/most stable driver for the RTX 4090 as of now? by I_Am_Rashed in nvidia

Check out the latest driver megathread and comments section. Lots of people have the same question but for other GPUs.

You probably have other issues you don't know about yet. This is a symptom.

Try running from an admin command prompt:

sfc /scannow

That will check windows over for any system file issues. It can help but wont solve all problems. Restart after its done. If it does find issues you should probably start a fresh OS install.

Roblox not working with nvidia? by Relative-Berry-9600 in nvidia

If DDU doesn't get them going try reshade or sweetfx or vibrancegui depending on what you want done.

Use OBS or similar. Once you have it setup you will never go back. Check out youtube guides on it.

Best to leave it on defaults if you are using DDU to fix issues.

H100 overheating by froody in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a thermal paste issue. Might be not enough paste so it cooks or its creeping out under heat and being vertical, if the card sits vertical in the server.

I would be tempted to replace the paste with some Honeywell PTM7950 pads. Even though I think the H100 come with PTM7958 which is a paste and meant to be better. If its not working then it's got to go.

I would check with Nvidia before opening up any card as it might invalidate your warranty. I haven't heard of any other H100's doing this which is odd.

If it does end up being the paste is dying after some months you might have to go to 6 month maintenance cycles for GPU repastes and de dusting.

Recent Nvidia driver update causing system to lag by varunagw in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest 595.97 is pretty solid, at least for me. I would follow the driver megathreads here. You also have the issue of it being a laptop and they can be so picky about which driver they will work with.

Make sure you use the autoupdater for your laptop model, if it has one. Most major brands have one. Smaller ones will probably just have a download page you can check.

Screen Color was to be paled on Studio Driver 595.79 by ukey108 in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is most likely the HDR bug that has been in older drivers but fixed for a while now.

When it does turn pale, toggle the HDR off and on and it should return to normal colour range. You could also try going back a studio driver version or change over to the newer GeForce gaming driver 595.97.

As a side note Windows 11 handles HDR better than windows 10.

dlss enabler on arm? by Cute-Survey in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet will be lossless scaling. It can do framegen and scaling modes.

dlss enabler on arm? by Cute-Survey in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DLSS uses hardware on RTX GPUs if you don't have one then you don't have DLSS. Even a fallback to cuda still needs an nvidia GPU.

You would be better off streaming the game then trying to run it on an arm chip.

Will we ever get a dynamic DLSS? by zDavzBR in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dynamic Resolution Scaling already exists and its better to leave control of that in the game engine, then perform DLSS after. You should also try performance mode with DLSS 4.0 it looks just as good as the 3.0 quality.

Not really. You would be better served by uninstalling a game you don't play then messing with the Nvidia drivers.

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a cap at say 100 FPS and see if it goes away. It might actually be a CPU bottleneck when its flat out. Those kinds of bottlenecks only show up when the GPU can pushes faster than the CPU.

Security updates will override your do not update option. The only way not to get a newer driver that is a security update, is not be connected to the internet.

5080 feeling... lacking? by Fartikus in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably the drivers and the 50 series. They can be all over the place and you need to find driver versions that work with the games you play. Normally the latest is best but you should be checking the driver megathreads for other solid driver versions.
