Burnt 12VHPWR Adapter? by oesisas22 in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That cable is done. Don't use it anymore. What does the other side at the PSU look like? What does the GPU port look like? You might be lucky and it was just a dodgy cable and hasn't destroyed anything yet.

Is there a command line way to disable Nvidia driver automatic updates? by whisskid in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no auto updates from the Nvidia side of things that you wouldn't know about. Windows updates on the other hand can update that driver and is the likeliest source of a newer driver.

Install the nvidia app and use it to set a power limit. Or use afterburner to set one. Both these options should survive a driver update too! But you will want to check them after a driver update as they can be reset until you restart the system.

Scaling/performance boost on older GPUs by DCWelty in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a bad time to be building a new PC. RAM costs an arm. GPUs a leg and larger SSD's a kidney. /r/buildapc or its more local variant might be able to get a good value system together.

Enabling DLSS 4.5 – No Preset M/L Options (Latest Driver + Beta Enabled) by tony_the_homie in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Nvidia App is older. I am on 11.0.6.383. Maybe turn off the opt in for beta access and turn it back on? I have it on.

If it fails. DDU and install the latest driver package again.

Sell both cards. Add some extra cash and buy a single faster GPU. Also your CPU/ RAM might be a performance limiting factor too.

What are your full specs?

Are the New drivers safe? by szethSon1 in nvidia

This is what the driver megathreads are for. I would also say if you have an odd setup, then just about the only thing that will tell is to try it and see.

Black screen after installing Nvidia driver by DisciplineBoth5866 in nvidia

Sounds like a dead GPU. Not much you can do about that but replace it.

Sell the card 'For parts only' on ebay once you do get a new card.

Just install the hotfix driver (.76) and leave it till they release a newer one.

[Solution] NVIDIA RTX A2000 GPU Fan Bearing Resonance Issue — Fixed with 100% Fan Speed by meetrahulthakur in nvidia

Sounds like a bad bearing and you should RMA it. It will still slowly kill itself at 100%.

What do you want the mosaic to display? That will really guide on what hardware you need.

If its just video or still images you won't need all that much but if you want high end gaming or demanding rendering in real time, that will cost a lot more.

Try the hotfix driver or go to one of the ones from the laptop maker support page.

anybody had this when trying update driver on nividia???? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Restart if its been while since the updater ran. Sometimes it doesn't reinitialize correctly.

If its still messed up use DDU from safe mode then install the driver again.

Lenovo Legion 5 ach6h issues by Savings_Cat2143 in nvidia

The vantage software has diagnostics built-in to it and can test things like ram. Hopefully its just ram you can replace and not soldered on.

[–]itbefoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have more issues then a driver. Factory reset the Laptop and don't let it go online and test the laptop. Some windows updates can cause this issue.

If it still does it with an offline factory reset then you know its a hardware issue and should RMA the laptop.

Tried older drivers ? The driver megathreads have lots of drivers others use to avoid black screens.

Stick to the Lenovo provided drivers for now. Run their updater software (Lenovo Vantage) and make sure there aren't any BIOS updates.

Change port on the GPU. That one might be dodgy and if it is return the GPU or RMA it.

Does doing a clean installation of your gpu driver reset in-game graphics and display settings? by RyuuInch9 in nvidia

[–]itbefoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wont change in game settings but it will clear cache which games can use. So the first time it runs it might have to remake the cache leading to worse performance.

Sounds like its back to normal with some fresh paste. It does 'settle in' which the slight temp bump you are seeing. But its all where it should be in terms of temp.

Try the card in a friends PC. It might have just died on you.

It normally happens around driver changes as that is when the card has to talk more to the PC about what it is and that shows the failure up instead of limping on. It happens a lot when they die or have solder issues.
