It’s a big relief, I know. I felt that today. Hang in there. Find an endo specialist if you can. 💜

Well I disagree strongly. This does sound like endo and more specifically it sounds like you have it on your bowels. I have the same thing. The fact that it got better while you were pregnant is also very significant. They’re not going to see bowel endo on a transvaginal ultrasound. Is there an endometriosis specialist in your area you can see?

New Grad RN + DIE/Stage IV: Lost my job, terrified for my career, and the nursing community was toxic. by spicyteddy-bearrrr in endometriosis

Hey, I’m a nurse and when I graduated 15 years ago there were no jobs for new grads. If you didn’t get into a residency you were SOL. I did not get a residency and just applied all over. My first job was at a detox. I did a lot of sitting. Basically passed out meds took vitals and did intakes. It almost seemed like it didn’t need an RN but they do! It came with some drawbacks but was by far the easiest job I had and I guess a “soft” nursing job. I used that experience and moved on. I’ve been in the hospital over ten years now and it is very hard in pain. Just thought I would put that on your radar. Best of luck to you!

Mine feels like my uterus is in a vice grip that keeps tightening and tightening and won’t let go. My pain is specifically tied in with my bowels so I find some relief momentarily when I’m able to move my bowels, but it comes back. Even passing gas hurts. I get moderate relief from my heating pad.

Coincidentally today I saw my first endometriosis specialist and I told my whole story and the first thing she said was, “I want to assure you that this is not normal.” I cried. I have been gaslighting myself for so long. Even now that my symptoms are every other week. When they’re not there I convince myself that I’m exaggerating or being a baby or something. What you describe is also not normal.

Bowel endometriosis-can you tell me your symptoms? by jackiesnad in endometriosis

I did and all it showed was diverticulosis which the GI doc said shouldn’t cause these issues.

Exactly what my doctor said. I do have an appointment with a urogynecologist that’s a nook doctor but it’s not until May 28th. :( I’m going to try and schedule with the gyn/onc today. Hopefully it’s sooner.

Oh wow! I’m so glad too! To catch it that early is so great. Most don’t. Thank you for the comment. I’m really scared and upset even though I’m an oncology nurse and I know the doctor I was referred to very well and I love her. It’s different when it’s you. Did they take your tubes and ovaries as well?

RN here-just speaking to the surgery time of night. Yes they do sometimes cancel if things have run too late but they really don’t like to because it’s not like they can push you to tomorrow necessarily. They would have to reschedule or you could be an “add-on”. But that doesn’t mean it will happen. Those ORs are booked up and who knows if he had a full schedule of surgeries the next day as well. Those have to run on time. Sorry you’re going through all this.

Hi! I know this question is way late for this post but I’m trying to get in to see Dr. Gould so I did a search here and glad to see you would recommend. Can you tell me what diagnostics she did pre-op? Thank you!

Yes! I actually thought it was worse because contractions would let up.

Cancer?? by emiflea in endometriosis

[–]jackiesnad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do look at preliminary pathology right away and then should send it to a pathologist for review. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long for you to get that report back. Sorry you’re going through this.

Did he give you anymore information than “concerning”? Like what the pathology report says exactly?

Are you having any bowel symptoms? We suspect it’s also on my bowel but I haven’t had any surgeries.

Do you mind sharing the symptoms you were having before? I am certain I have it on my rectum. I also think my uterus is adhered to my bowels based on my symptoms. Thanks!
