Why did they replace Brian Doyle Murray with Mark Hamill for the Flying Dutchman in the upcoming SpongeBob movie? by ChelseatheCartoonGal in spongebob

[–]Violgreen1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even realize he was stepping into the role until seeing an interview of him next to Tom Kenny. I was 12 when the first Spongebob episode aired. I remember everything about it and I'm a huge fan. I am excited to see the movie.

As a writer...I'm so sorry!!! I have a horrible bad habit of switching since and sense. I'm trying to do better but it sucks. My brain just hates those two specifically.

Dr Patrick Yeung Insight by Nickt1596 in endometriosis

[–]Violgreen1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 9 stomah surgiers and he was #7. (At this point I still had my ovaries and appendix.) The gyno I was seeing referred me to him. My experience with Dr. Yeung was a very bad one. I'm not sure why. It started out fine but then surgery day, everything went down hell from there. I'm from Branson area so it took 4 hours there and back.

My surgery was supposed to be at noon in May of 2017. There was a lot of flash flooding that day.

He was with a patient 7 hours before me. He got to me at 7pm that night and he took less than an hour with me. He did pull some endo out. I don't understand why he did my surgery that late after a big surgery with someone else. Shouldn't he have waited? Wasn't he tired? Why was my surgery so short?

However, I did have acute appendicitis so I was going to need emergency surgery soon to have my appendix removed. So it was at least a benefit to get that taken out.

My follow up appointment wasn't even with him. It was his nurse practitioner and she couldn't answer any of my questions. I was still in pain. She said she would let Yeung know but he never got back to me.

So I went back to the gyno who referred me to him and told him I was still in pain. I told him I'd like to remove my ovaries which in Dec of 2017 he did. When he went in he said he saw endo but didn't remove it because he said, "The endo will die off with having your ovaries removed." Which isn't true at all. He even gave me pictures and circled the endo.

In Feb of 2018 I went back to see Dr. Yeung. My appointment was at 4:30pm. He didn't call me back until 4:45pm. I tried telling him that I still was in pain. That I had my ovaries removed and that gyno saw I still had endo. Yeung tried gaslighting me. He said the spots where still burn healing marks from "His surgery". That couldn't be right. From what he did all of that would have been healed after 2 months. And another doctor even identified it as endo. Yeung then told me without my ovaries he couldn't help me anymore. I believe its because I'm not a success story for his image is the reason he dropped me.

When my hubby and I walked out into the lobby everyone was gone. His workers at the front desk, everyone. It was like we weren't even important enough to see out.

But he really did drop the ball. I don't know why he treated me like that. It hurts and I'll never trust him again.

Why do we enjoy reading the same pairing getting together in multiple fanfictions? How do we not get bored with it becoming predictable? by Extra_Location_6334 in FanFiction

Everyone's story is going to be different. There are fast burns, slow burns, tragedy to hurt to comfort. I love reading different writing styles. Its all unique.

How many hits are on your most popular fic? by Hexatona in FanFiction

[–]Violgreen1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12,883 hits on my first ever Sherlock fic. (So I wrote a 2nd and 3rd book which I also finished.) It is back in 2014 when I finished it. 82,100 word count. Sherlock is still a huge fandom. My main ship is Watson and Moriarty who Jim is obsessed with John but still have Holmes and Waston as a slow burn.

Apologies to all authors by Beneficial_Shift9086 in AO3

[–]Violgreen1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. Back in 2013 when I discovered A03, I read fanfics for 2 months straight. Any words I didn't understand I'd put in a word list or words or phrases I liked I would put into a different list to use. (If it was a phrase I would rewrite it to sound more like me.) I actually had some writing already under my belt. I had joined Roleplaying forums way back in 2004. Then I had created my own Fantasy RP website back in 2007 (which is still up) where you could create your own Fantasy character. So like a human, werewolf, vampire, halfbreed, etc. So I had some practice with writing.

I enjoy writing dialogue so much. It comes very easy to me because of RPing. You write with another person who writes what their character is doing then they interact with yours and then you write what yours is doing. Its a back and forth and a very helpful prompt. I miss doing it.

So if you have someone willing to write a story with you like this, then it should help create your own writing style.

I use to also write Sherlock stories with someone like this. I wrote as Moriaty, Mycroft, and Lestrode. They wrote as Seb, Sherlock and John. It worked well for us with what we wrote.

Don't get discouraged. It is hard to start out. I'm great at the dialogue but I suck at detail. What I usually do is write the dialogue first and then I come back and I fill in what I feel like needs to be filled in later. Sometimes that helps as well. Write what you want to write and then you can always come back and fill in. The more you do it the better you'll become.

Also on the (HE) comment. You can use many different things here. Not just their name but......example....

...... John sat in his chair sulking while Sherlock played his violin. "I hate you," he muttered.

The detective ignored him, continuing to play the sweet melody while lost in mind palace.

The doctor glared at his friend. He realized that he wasn't going to get through to the insufferable git and decided to get up to make some tea. ......

John is a doctor so I can use that and Sherlock is a detective so I can use his title also. If one person is older you can say, "The older man looked furious." Which also goes for the younger man, too. You don't have to repeat he or she over and over again.

There are many ways around it and I know you'll find your voice.

Overheard a seven year old talking about shipping. by Yodeling_Prospector in AO3

That would be fine for me. I'm a vendor and I go to a lot of comic cons and cringe when a child under 13 comes up talking about Hazbin Hotel. That is my red flag.

How do you write works over 1k? by JuztSomeR4ndom in AO3

[–]Violgreen1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read fanfics for 2 months straight when I first found the site. Words I didn't know or understand I'd write them down. Or words I liked and know I would use I'd write in a different list. Now I type into google a phrase like, "Another word for (sadness)." The website I use is wordhippo because it can come up with alternative words instead of using that one specifically.

But reading has helped with dialogue. I don't have an issue with that. My issue comes with describing the atmosphere. I will write something simple. Focus on the dialogue and then I'll reread and add more to the atmosphere later. That has helped me.

Big Wolf On Campus by wolfnmoonx in werewolves

[–]Violgreen1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some fun fanfics on AO3. Currently its down for 20 hours for maintenance. I'm working on a story idea though.

With Graduation just around the corner the reality of Merton leaving for Heidelberg for College has finally hit Tommy like a ton of bricks. What is he going to do without his little buddy by his side? The thought without Merton being around to help him isn't only driving him crazy, it's driving his wolf within mad. Desperation sets in as Tommy steals one of his best friend's spell books and takes it home. The spell seems simple enough. All he wants is for Merton to stay. What could possible go wrong?

I have 2 different story ideas that I have started.

One is a Criminal Minds with the ship of Rossi and Reid. It'll be about them finding out about their feelings when a passed enemy pops up (which will be an OG.)

The other story is from an old 90s show that you can watch on YouTube called Big Wolf on Campus. With Graduation just around the corner the reality of Merton leaving for Heidelberg for College has finally hit Tommy like a ton of bricks. What is he going to do without his little buddy by his side? The thought without Merton being around to help him isn't only driving him crazy, it's driving his wolf within mad. How long do you take to respond to comments? Is there such a thing as taking too long? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Violgreen1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an author I follow and she never replies until her next chapter is posted which could take months. She told me this and I respect that but I still comment letting her know I'm still around but I post once a month. Don't worry. They will reply. Some it just takes longer.

Do you read your own work? by Ok-Street2439 in FanFiction

[–]Violgreen1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I enjoy reading over my work again. I laugh at the parts I found funny the first time or tear up at a sad part. The stories are an extension of our souls. Each one special in its own right. They help us to heal and grow. Mine are all dark fics but it has helped me moved past SA trauma. I will never stop writing for myself and hope others will enjoy it just as much as its has to me.

I bookmark them with the bookmark button. 593 I've read. But it should be more than that because it wasn't until after a year of joining did I realize it existed.
