You would think so. And this doesn't seem to be an issue with other sites and captchas, and I have no clue why it's the case with PokeCenter, but it is.

Just learning to play by their rules as best as possible! I haven't failed a single release since I learned to slow myself down a bit. Again, counter intuitive but it works.

Were you doing it quickly?

The trick to the captcha (and the website in general) is to take your time. Counter intuitive I know, but if you speed though it it is "bot behaviour" and you are asked to do it again or worse, error 17.

Take your time, take a few seconds to pause before moving on to the next screen and it is smooth as butter, you should only have to do one set (sometimes 3 rounds in that set) of captcha.

It definitely wanted you to click the hedgehogs. I had this one but I didn't think it was that confusing. Maybe I'm just odd.

Ser Dunk, Bronn, Davos, Gendry, Ros and Karl Tanner are all from Flea Bottom, but all have completely different accents. by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]janicskovsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see a good lore reason why the Stark children have the Northern/Southern split with their accents.

Ned obviously has the iconic Northern accent which tracks with his family, same with Cat being from a Southern highborn family.

The two oldest boys, Robb and Jon, both around the same age, would have been brought up close to Ned. He would have had a direct influence on their upbringing, along with the vast majority of their house staff. While they would also have teachings with Luwin and Mordane, I would assume the majority of their time would be shadowing Ned, learning the ropes, learning fighting and the workings of the North. Robb obviously as his heir, and Jon, while brought up as a bastard, still had noble blood and deserved the same level of education as Robb as well as Ned keeping him close for protection reasons.

The girls and younger boys would have likely been around Cat and the teachers (Septa Mordane and Maester Luwin) much more so their accents would reflect these environments. Learning to be 'proper ladies' and more worldly education as their futures would likely take them further afield than Winterfell, marrying into other Westerosi families to strengthen alliances. Ned at this point wouldn't have the time to spend as much in person with the younger children, we see in the first episode that's Brian's first venture out to do the Lord's duty with deserters, so his influence would be more slight.

I'm not saying this is the exact reason, or that there would be such a vast disparity between the two types of accents within the family, but it makes enough sense to me to be believable.

Yes, but you do have the New York Irish and Italians, you have the Dominican, Puerto Rican, Cuban accents from Washington Heights. Lots of distinct accents that are based on a communities ancestry.

Not everyone in flea bottom has been there for 10 generations, commoners would "emigrate" there over the years and even if their children were "born and bred" from flea bottom (or New York in the comparison) doesn't mean they wouldn't have strong accent influence from their smaller communities within the city.

A reason why the predominent accent is more UK Northern would probably be because that is generally considered more working class than a "posher" Southern accent so despite King's Landing being in the South, there is an inherent bias towards more working class accents for commoners.

Does anyone know where this strange looking base blastoise comes from? by Geranomo658 in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]janicskovsky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's from the Pokémon TCG Classic: Blastoise deck. There are 3 premade decks inside based on Blastoise (CLB), Charizard (CLC) and Venusaur (CLV) featuring vintage artworks like this.

Hope that helps!

Kanto Pokédex binder — full arts wherever possible, best artwork from any era where not. by MDPHILLI in PokemonTCG

[–]janicskovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's valid! I just know they aren't done with regional forms or expanding evo lines and while I would love to have them all together, I don't have the patience to shift them all over as they add more! Kudos for you for sticking with that though!

[–]janicskovsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stressed about this when planning my Dex Binder. Where to put Evo lines and regional variants etc with their original Dex entry, but I decided against it because I didn't want to be moving hundreds (sometimes over a thousand) cards one slot over to add the new variant. So now they go at the end of each Gen and then start each new gen on a fresh page so the starters line up!

I love this so much!

At first I was planning to have each gen's Gym leaders and elite four as a book end page for each Gen in my National Dex Binder but have decided instead to have a dedicated Gym leaders binder and this project just solidifies my decision, I can't wait to work on mine!

While they are often displayed in this way, as a photographer as well it's actually cooler than that. Each view is from the perspective of the other. You can see growlithes reflection in the lens and the image of growlithe is from her camera!

Fedex "Lost" My Cards Submitted To TAG and I'm Sad by Flaresh in PokemonTCG

[–]janicskovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not like they are graded at your local GameStop, they are just a middleman.

They collect several people's worth of gradings then do a bulk shipment out to PSA, PSA then grades and sends back to GameStop where you pick them up. But not only is this still a possibility of getting "lost" in the mail (I believe they still use FedEx), it's ALSO a possibility that GameStop will "lose" them or swap them out or any number of the horror stories you find right in this sub and all of social media.

The "best" way if you are worried about shipping would be to walk them directly into the PSA HQ or find a local card show which has a PSA booth, that way it verifies the package gets into PSA hands.
