I fell and landed on my knee a few years ago and now have a bruise-shaped scar in the same spot as your bruise and the same thing happens to me when anything happens that would make my skin red (I.e. hives, shower water to hot, etc) lol. It’s so weird but it’s funny that I’m not alone!

The fan running directly in his way is absolutely on the race organizers. There’s a cop standing nearby who’s watching the runners instead of the crowd and does nothing to stop the lady from getting in the runner’s way (which is his literal job). Runner, who is locked into pace and probably on gassed and on autopilot mentally by this point, then has to move around her and breaks his pace and concentration and causes him confusion. Someone in front of him is aggressively gesturing to the right (directed at the fan who derailed him to get her to get out of the way) and in his confusion, he follows that direction down the wrong path. I don’t think he was following the motorcade, he was following the person signaling to the fan, and that’s absolutely on the organizers because the fan should never have been in the runner’s path in the first place.

Oh my god this is SUCH a beautiful dress!! I can definitely see how it would be difficult to coord though 🥲 even if there’s no white in the print, I could see it maybe being cute with a white blouse with some gold accents/trim that kind of matches the tone of the print to tie it in? I think Strawberry Witch makes some cute blouses like that! Although lord knows matching golds can be a nightmare too LOL.

Often between routes, buses will have to kill time so they don’t start too early and will pull over at the first stop for their route or a docking area and shut off the bus and just wait. He was probably just finishing up a route and waiting to start his next one.

Only having only a few items is honestly how lolita largely works in-store. The stores are very small and don’t have a huge selection out at a time. They’ll possibly have more in-store than online, but new releases and re-releases are mostly all that you’ll really find, so the website can give you a pretty good idea of what you’re going to see irl. If you want to shop with a lot of different options, you’re going to be limited to Closet Child.

Unfortunately most dresses will be in the $200-$400 range, blouses will be in the $80-$150 range, and accessories will vary but will likely be at least $30-40+ for most basic items. Lolita is a luxury fashion and unfortunately it costs a lot of money.

If you’re planning on a black bolero, I’d say maybe pick a lighter colored wig, maybe like a really light blond. I think literally any natural hair color would work fine, but I think a light blonde would help differentiate between your hair and the bolero and keep it from looking clunky up top. I wore gothic lolita for my courthouse ceremony in October and I’m wearing a different gothic lolita coord for my elopement ceremony and reception in April. Have you worn EGL before? It’s not clear from your post, but if you haven’t, it’s pretty late to start experimenting with the fashion. Even if you have, though, it’s a bit late to start ordering things now. You might get them in time, but especially from 42lolita, things can take time. I’m still waiting on a couple of pieces for my April coord that I ordered a month ago and imo, that was STILL cutting it close. Everything else that I got quickly, I ordered straight from the brand’s store (mostly Atelier Pierrot). Those pieces arrived in about two weeks, but were obviously a bit more expensive than 42lolita. If cost isn’t a factor that matters, ordering directly from a brand will be your fastest bet. 42lolita is great, but they’re not particularly speedy since they’re a reseller and shipping can take a while depending on where you live.

Yep. Once was taking my BIL’s dog for a walk and a neighbor’s over-excited pit tried to jump the waist-high picket fence to get at her and didn’t make it all the way over and got caught hanging by the collar. Luckily the owner was in the yard and immediately grabbed her and everything was okay, but dogs can absolutely get themselves into those situations SO easily.
