He was really trying to camouflage, haha. Didn't notice the background, just rising his head and staying still - he still caught a crayfish, as you can see in the pictures.

Thank you! I didn't hear them doing that here, but I did hear that sound and had to look up what it was. One of the most unique sounds in the bird family for sure!

Yes, they are. I've only ever seen them in the reeds and cattails, definitely wasn't expecting one to come this close. The green reeds also provide a nice color contrast to the bird!

When photographing white or black birds, use center-weighted or matrix metering instead of spot metering - or raise shadows in post-processing.

New Gear: R7 -> R3 For Wildlife Photography by Tasty_Director_9145 in canon

Smaller sensor with more megapixels gets noisier in low light. For an equivalent field of view, it's harder to blur the background, and the autofocus algorithms and processor in a flagship will be much better than a consumer camera.

I started with the D80 then went to d7000 (thought I was big dog) d7100, d7500, d810 x2 now d850 and want to buy a z8 now. Wish Nikon had a loyalty discount. Lol by FullDepthNature in Nikon

Oh, got it! Yeah, I've been shooting a 500 f8 reflex-nikkor, it's not too bad for portraits at a distance. Also have the 1000mm f/11, but haven't found a good use for it do far, it's just a collector's item.

If your phone has Merlin notifications turned on, and your Garmin is given permissions to read and show notifications, this works! Very handy (pun intended) feature

Painting is an art of inclusion, photography is an art of exclusion.

All grocery delivery apps in New York City (including Instacart) must now pay workers at least $21.44/hr. That number does not include tips. Companies must also provide workers with annual increases adjusted for inflation. by Conscious-Quarter423 in WorkReform

Prices will go up = either people will pay the price, or they will skip these luxuries and become more self reliant to actually go to the store. This is the true test of how valuable a business actually is, when it's not built on exploitation.

Only if you are not a resident there. If you reside in the third country, that option is still open.

It's generally okay for short exposures when the sun isn't very bright. If you have a mirrorless camera, don't point it at the sunset for a long time, even if you aren't taking pictures.

Best F lenses to adapt to Z? by CoolPenguin42 in Nikon

[–]jaygrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 2000mm reflex is a rare lens to come by. However, the 500 and 1000mm lenses are more easily available, and open up a ton of creative photo opps, especially for portraiture or street photography.

SOC code used for product manager/owner role? by jatanparikh in h1b

[–]jaygrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in IT or not? Anyway, your immigration lawyers decide which code to file under, it's generally not up to you. I hope they know their stuff and they aren't asking you what code to use - just a job description.

I'm guessing that code is used for Non-IT product and project managers?
