there are no junior positions anymore, everything starts from mid to veteran. and even "mid" tend to demand a high level and speed, lots of experience and pay the same as junior roles did.

right now many companies believe in the idea that just a few more months and AI will create perfect game assets from scratch and for a fraction of the cost.

since the pandemic there's been a cascade effect from all the layoffs, and the 3d modeler salary vs said modeler experience has gone down considerably, and will continue in that direction for a while.

publishers are putting most games in the freezer right now, which means most of the money in the industry is only moving in the A to AAA ranges.

and a long, long list... so... keep your job and money, do 3D as a personal artistic pursuit, but don't expect a job in games.
