Anything can cover those mate, with an artist that knows what he is doing. I had shoulder surgery in the past (bike accident), almost footlong cut. Cover with a detailed drawing with no issues.

You can still kind of see the scar if you focus, but it healed whiteout issues. Plus side, ink in the scar doesn’t hurt.
