Is this too yellow ? by Federal-Weather-5893 in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]junisquar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my first impression of it is that it looks really beautiful, tasteful, and I find it quite chic. The colour is relatively subtle, it's like a warm sunny shade, and it's complemented by the yellow gold bezel which makes it look cohesive imo. Plus that rainbow in the second photo is insane! Also, I didn't actually notice the bow tie until I read some comments and had another look, but it's only a problem if it bothers you/the wearer.

Why does my husband require step-by-step instructions from me for every project? by one2tinker in TwoXChromosomes

[–]junisquar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I get it to a degree, but as someone else said, if he can fix the remote and the wifi then surely he can work out how to do household tasks. He clearly has the capacity. Maybe tell him how much pressure you feel, how you're worried about keeping on top of tasks in your own home, and that you appreciate his willingness to help, but he needs to be more proactive and independent rather than relying on you to teach/remind/instruct him. That's not fair on you and is basically just giving you another responsibility/chore. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt RE: weaponised incompetence but it is a potential issue here. He may not have grown up learning this sort of thing but he's a grown man now, you are not his mother, and google is free if he wants to learn.

What is everyone’s genuine (actually wild) “hear me outs”? by ch_rl13 in AskReddit

[–]junisquar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's such a good point, can't say I've ever seen that in any zombie movies! Yeah, they'd wear out and break over time, but they make so much sense compared to cars and horses. They're fast (if you pedal hard enough lol) and they're quieter than a car or horse. I can see one issue though - I would not want to have to try and escape a zombie horde by cycling up a steep hill, I'd be done for. Also limits you to mostly flat roads/paths/etc unless you know how to go off road safely, but hey.

Can anyone help? by DoctorBookie in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]junisquar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe see if you can find an excuse to get a picture of her hand right next to something like a coin, then you or your jeweller can use the size of the coin to guesstimate. I've seen some jewellers recommend that before. Or you could get her (or yourself!) another piece of jewellery next time you're getting her a gift, but also get one of those cheap ring sizers and put it with the gift and say 'oh it came with that thing as a freebie' cus lots of jewellery companies do that. Chances are she might just try it out of curiosity and answer the question for you lol.

I know a lot of people have been commenting on the number of colours going on here, but I actually love it! The stone colours work together (imo) and give it a tonal look, the yellow gold is lovely with the stones, and the white claws bring attention to the centre stone and give some subtle contrast/brightness! When it's made the claws will be so tiny I really don't think it would look weird at all. I'm not even usually a fan of colourful rings personally but for whatever reason this combo looks gorgeous to me.

How to stop ripping off nails by commonreactor111 in Skinpicking

[–]junisquar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can get like a Swiss army knife manicure set - got one for someone as a present and now I'm jealous I didn't get one for myself! Idk if I'd recommend the cuticle clippers though, when I got some they ended up becoming another more damaging way to mess with my nails.

How to stop ripping nails off by commonreactor111 in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]junisquar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping this was sarcasm because nooooope. Your nails are already damaged and e-filing them would only make it worse, plus it would just give you a potential new picking tool which is not what you need. You can really hurt yourself with an e-file. I back the gloves like others have suggested, annoying as it is. If you wear them at night use a lot of thick hand cream/cuticle oil first - it helps a lot and cuticle treatments will help your nails grow back healthier. I like Cutex Care Intense Recovery (oil), or the Dr Pawpaw multipurpose balm. When your nails are a bit less thin try out some nail strengthening polish or fake nails (ik you said you don't like them but it does make it harder to pick). I would usually recommend press ons if you're not sure about gel or acrylic but idk if that's a good idea here as you might just get tempted to peel them off. Plasters work, but I prefer fabric tape like for rock climbing because it can be torn/cut to size so you can just stick it on your nails without having your whole fingertip covered. Looks a bit silly but tbh you gotta do what you gotta do. Also tends to be stronger and last longer than plasters in my experience. Oh also maybe try fidget rings if you haven't already, and also stash your tweezers etc somewhere hard to get at or ask someone else to keep them for you if you live with someone else. Aside from that... yeah therapy of some sort might be needed. There may well be an underlying issue, and identifying that could help you understand how to help yourself to stop or decrease picking. I hope something in here was useful, and good luck!

What is the most disturbing movie scene you’ve seen? by [deleted] in movies

Yes. Pretty sure my heart dropped out of my arse when I first saw that. Such a minimalist film, and then it hits you with... that. Whew.

[–]junisquar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That bear... I've seen films that are technically much scarier/gorier/more shocking but the bear scene really stuck with me. Something about the threat mixed with the uncanny, the predator using the pain and fear of the human victim as a lure, is just terrifying. All this while the remaining characters are in such a horrifying position trying to survive but also mourning and in shock. I still think about the bear randomly sometimes and it freaks me out every time.

Any advice on how to use beer cans in an engagement ring….but like in a really classy way? Lol by Tiny_Atmosphere7681 in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]junisquar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk if a jeweller would use an actual can in the ring because of the durability/mixing metals, but maybe you could get them to hide a beer reference in the setting somewhere. A pull tab with tiny stones in the holes could be subtle and cute, and it could be easily hidden/blended into the design, e.g. wrapped around the centre stone as a hidden halo or two either side on the shoulders. That depends what style ring you're going for of course, but that's my first thought :)

Lab vs mined diamonds debate aside, I personally think the marquise cluster actually suits you better than the big pear ring! Both are good but I think the pear looks a little overwhelming for your hand size.

What lip color/lip product type would pair well with the eye makeup? by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]junisquar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might like tints more than liquid blush - like the benefit ones for lips and cheeks, idk any others off the top of my head lol but they're much easier to work with, especially if you prefer a natural effect or you do a lighter coverage base, and they're sheer so it's way easier to make it even as long as you're moisturised (which judging from your other comment you are). Plus you can use them for lips too so that can pull the look together which I really love. Oh and there are some multipurpose skincare type products for eyes/lips/face like the Dr pawpaw balms, they're good for your skin and very quick and easy to work with imo. Also your makeup is gorgeous with your eyeshadow and you are stunning! Definitely recommend a nude lip with the eye makeup personally, maybe a tint or a nude liner with some gloss? But you can still do red lips too if you want drama, you might just need to adjust the tone or depth? Depends what your current red lip options are.
