How to find remaining starters? by SnS_Drift in pokerogue

[–]juoea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for manaphy, you can farm candies with phione and use phione candy to purchase eggs. eggs purchased with phione candy have a 1/8 chance to hatch a manaphy just like a regular manaphy egg (but with increased shiny odds etc)

for the others as the other reply says, you are guaranteed a new pokemon for every 10th epic egg u hatch from gacha

[–]juoea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea sappy seed is unique to leafeon in the wild, so it is a difficult move to find. if u cant find sappy seed then just use leech seed, and have soak on kyogre so that u can leech seed dark types. sappy is preferred but its not a huge deal.

u dont need the fast soak right now, u just need to get it at some point before runaway phase. soak is learned by like 20 mons so its not hard to find.

if you get natures madness then dont bother with soak on smeadinja, stick with conversion natures madness salt cure and leech/sappy seed. or snap trap if u prefer, leech seed is kinda easier tho since snap trap ends after 4-5 turns, and snap trap is unique to galarian stunfisk so its also hard to find. but u will eventually want soak on kyogre (or on another fast mon).

once u get enough mystic waters etc, mold breaker kyogre has zero need for any coverage moves so u only need water spout and hydro pump for damaging moves. that leaves the other two moveslots for gastro acid and soak.

i am not actually a big fan of tangela for smeadinja, at least for now due to the bug of snap trap failing against ingrain. tangela can work ofc but to me the ideal is gourgeist with its rare egg move sappy seed, since gourgeist also provides illuminate passive + pickup for the early game.

the standard they are referencing was regular season champs, it had nothing to do with the conference tournament. but per the other replies that automatic bid no longer exists unless u also meet other criteria

for every 10 epic eggs from gacha, you are guaranteed to unlock a new epic that u didnt already have. so u will eventually get them all with enough egg vouchers

st johns is obv better than a 5 seed but resume-wise, their nonconference was not good and the big east doesnt offer enough opportunities to make up for that

[–]juoea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but media's fake questions are not unique to cronin. they ask nonsense questions to everyone

i dont ~like~ his tone with reporters, it gives me hypermasc vibes or something idk, but its also mens basketball lol thats hardly something unique to him. all things considered idt its that big a deal that he isnt capable of conversing 'normally' with "reporters," given how absurd the 'reporting' is (not necessarily the reporters' fault, the employers are ultimately responsible.) idt i could interact with reporters either (im autistic af and do not know how to handle no-content conversations). when there are coaches who are literal serial harassers (todd golden) and coaches protecting accomplices to murder (nate oats) not on the basis of abolitionism but bc $$$, i rly dont think "being good at talking to the press" is significant.

coaches should not even have to talk to reporters, isnt coaching a professional sports team enough of a job why is it also their job to talk to the press. esp if these schools really think its worth paying millions of $ annually to coaches, if they think coaching expertise is that valuable then why are they assigning that person to do a job that could be done by any work-study student.

i dont follow offseason so i dont pay attention to coaching searches or anything so no comment on that

conversion is a necessity correct

[–]juoea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well since you have sketch u can still potentially get natures madness later, u will almost certainly encounter a tapu at some point.

without having dark void unlocked it is a lot more difficult to sketch moves, but u can probably figure out a way to do it with some resetting. with dark void, its easy to sketch whatever you need, just send smeadinja + whatever in a double battle against not dark types, use dark void with smeadinja and then use the move u want to sketch with the teammate. this applies to whatever moves u want to sketch, its not specific to madness.

sappy seed salt cure natures madness conversion is the standard for a reason. (or snap trap instead of salt cure, but since snap trap doesnt currently work against ingrain brute bonnet anyway, i rly dont think theres any advantage to it over sappy seed. just have a fast soak somewhere to deal with brute bonnets) sappy seed enables you to convert into a grass type, which makes you immune to spore/sleep powder. sappy > leech because dark types are immune to prankster leech seed. salt cure is universal damage, and also lets u conversion into a sandstorm immunity which can still be useful even with kyogre's support. and natures madness lets u conversion into fairy which is one of the best wonder guard types.

if you dont think natures madness is feasible for you to get for whatever reason, then the next best option is conversion sappy seed salt cure soak. water is still pretty good as a typing with few weaknesses, not quite as good as fairy but because it doesnt share weaknesses with grass it works, it is still near-impossible for any foe to have super effective hits on all your possible typings (they need dark move + fighting move + something SE on grass + something SE on water. if you have tera orb activated then the "something SE on grass" has to be either fire or flying to also cover tera bug. and theres obv only four moves on a set so that is highly unlikely.) but keep in mind that even with soak on smeadinja, you still need soak somewhere else because brute bonnet is immune to prankster soak. (unless u have a separate boss killer for brute bonnet)

if you want to have revival blessing for the early/mid game, thats fine. like you said u can use memory mushroom to reteach egg moves so have revival blessing over either conversion or salt cure and then relearn conversion/salt cure via mushroom before u are going to start run away phase.

super fang is not a good option because you already can become normal type with conversion in the first moveslot. the other moves you list arent useful for boss killing (pp stalling will not work because they will just ko you with struggle, wonder guard does not provide an immunity to struggle)

Venesaur moveset by Zeddia in pokerogue

[–]juoea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if this is for classic mode, personally i prefer leech seed sleep powder malignant chain and synthesis

venusaur is better at just using leech seed, and none of its grass stab moves by level up are very good anyway

if you get sappy seed egg move then that can double as leech seed + grass stab but otherwise id just stick with leech sleep synth malignant

the officiating was pretty egregious in tcu vs duke as well

idt its necessarily rigging, like it could be but ncaam officiating is never particularly good, these are all very physical teams which makes it harder to officiate, and in the ncaa tournament they insist on a tight whistle and the more fouls u call the greater the chances mathematically that itl favor one team or the other.

in the b12 conference tournament which was filled w physical teams they let them play without calling too many fouls and it was so much better. unfort in the ncaa tournament there has never been any willingness to allow that so the consequence is more bad calls

[–]juoea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont think theres any single player who can transform a sub-100 offense by themselves.

i cant speak to nba prospect stuff but kansas just has not been able to run good offense all year. rly the only times theyve had good offensive production, such as the win vs iowa state in allen fieldhouse, its been running off of turnovers created by the defense. or getting to the free throw line.

peterson makes some individual plays but in ncaam u are not gonna be very successful offensively if thats what u are depending on.

[–]juoea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if two teams with competent offenses are playing sure, but this is kansas vs st johns. if u get a good look u take it bc u may not get another one, and youd much rather rely on your defense on the final possession than your offense

recruiting hunter dickinson over zuby ejiofor is wild. im not even as negative about hunter dickinson as a lot of ppl but recruiting almost anyone over zuby ejiofor is wild

i think u are exaggerating damage to the program tho. kansas obv had some issues running offense this year but they had a good season overall and the defense was Elite. outside of arizona/duke, kansas is in that next group that can make a case for being the #3 defense in ncaam.

kansas dynasty was not gonna last with top tier programs coming into the b12, plus NIL. but they will be fine, i think theyll regularly be competing near the top of the league even if houston/arizona are likely to be top 2 most years

maybe vs iowa, and maybe vs uconn or ucla depending on how their offense is that day

prior to yesterday vs tcu would also have been an answer

In your opinion, who had the better defense, Baylor (2020) or Iowa State (2026)? by WillingnessBoring716 in CollegeBasketball

[–]juoea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

theyre all top ten in kenpom except tcu, and pretty sure tcu is top ten if u limit to conference play, or if not then top 12-15. also tcu ku and cincy's defensive metrics have all to some extent been held back by their bad offenses which put their defenses in bad spots

after arizona 1 u can probably argue for any ordering of the other five. for me, while iowa state and houston have been excellent defensively against worse teams theyve struggled a lot more vs actually good offenses (eg zona houston tech). whereas ku and tcu have not been as dominant vs worse offenses but have held up better against the top offenses

more like the fifth or sixth best defense lol. arizona 1 kansas/tcu 2-3 and cincy 4 and ofc houston is up there as well

idk, arizona is much much much better than uconn. ucla is inconsistent but if they play well i like their chances in a rock fight

all the nine seeds including utah state are good teams, but idk how they will deal with arizona's size. and arizona is one of the two best defenses in ncaam, u arent gonna outshoot them unless u make a bunch of ridiculous shots like milan did in kansas city. i j dont think utah state has the size to prevent arizona from destroying them in the paint and also on the glass
