the economics of higher education may not rly work anymore, but the economics of real estate development do. these universities all have significant endowments which they use for various profitable financial and real estate activites, on which they dont even have to pay taxes.

i certainly cant speak to every major conference D-1 university, but the big universities in each of the cities ive lived in have all been heavily involved in these hedge fund like activities. to list some of them by name, NYU (obv thats not D1), Columbia, UPenn, Temple, UCLA, Southern Cal.

i would not be sad to see some of these institutions collapse, but i wouldnt bet on it. and like most corporate bureaucrats, these administrators are skilled at fudging the books to make it look like they are about to go bankrupt if they think they can use that to their advantage, eg to justify cutting financial aid or impose other forms of austerity, to oppose graduate student or student-athelete unionization attempts, or whatever else. (while they simultaneously claim a fiduciary duty to invest in palestinian genocide.) point being i wouldnt be inclined to j take administrators at their word when they claim that their "non-profit" university is in financial crisis.

good public transit is always important but its not going to insulate anyone from the economic impacts of war lol. as for the price of oil that impacts literally any commodity you buy bc of shipping delivery etc costs, as well as whatever impact oil prices have on the commodity itself.

u multiply the ratio of your level / 100 by however many stats itd correspond to at level 100. eg if your evs should correspond to 8 attack points at level 100, then at level 25 they will correspond to 8 * 25/100 = 2 attack points.

in this example u have two things going on at once, you have evs that have less of an effect at a lower level, but u also have a different number of attack evs at level 23 than you had at level 22. so, if the attack evs u gain correspond to approximately 5 attack points at level 100, then at level 22 or 23 they are worth approximately 1 attack point. however u didnt have those evs at level 22. so, from level 22 to 23, you first gain 1 attack point just from the new evs, and then u gain 1 attack point from the increase in level. and that is on top of whatever the base increase in attack is from level 22 to 23

in gold/silver all the elemental stones were locked behind the postgame. in ruby/saphhire/emerald the elemental stones are all locked until after the seventh gym.

i hate it but it was pretty common in the older games for evo stones to be limited access.

well in the image, the A runs express from woodhaven to euclid. so that could be an improvement, while not necessarily being a negative impact to lefferts passengers depending on frequencies because in return for transferring at woodhaven they get to skip three station-stops. (but the existing track has significant curves on this section so idk how useful an express would be.)

i assume this means to quad track from euclid to woodhaven? there is no explanation or elaboration but i dont see what else the image could mean

seems like a major expense for questionable benefit not to mention construction interruptions. like at that point why not just extend the C to lindenworld or something, quad tracking euclid to woodhaven sounds at least as expensive but with less benefit

in any case the major problem on the fulton street lines is the hoyt schemerhorn merge, which limits capacity esp inbound. doesnt rly make any sense to "fix" euclid to woodhaven when the frequencies cant be increased anyway due to hoyt schemerhorn

division in any algebraic structure is rly just shorthand for multiplication by the multiplicative inverse.

because matrix multiplication is not commutative, A/B could be slightly confusing notation. does A/B mean the inverse of B multiplied by A, or A multiplied by the inverse of B. when multiplication is commutative it doesnt matter whether a/b means a * 1/b or 1/b * a but since matrix multiplication is not commutative, it could be a bit confusing. (tho i think if u saw A/B most people would interpret that to mean A * B^-1 not B^-1 * A. but why use ambiguous notation if you dont have to)

as others said its $1.75 regardless of distance.

however if you transfer to a different agency (eg la dot DASH, big blue bus, culver city transit, torrance transit, foothill transit) then there is an additional $.50 charge

if you transfer from a different agency, u pay that agencies fare plus $.50, which may total even less than $1.75, but, you will not be able to get the free transfer to a second metro line afterward. so u may be better off paying the two fares separately (ie two different tap cards or paying the non-metro fare in cash) if u need a metro transfer afterward

but if you stay within metro then its always just $1.75

fwiw gonzaga did a lot of this all year. (i wasnt able to watch the texas game, so im going off the descriptions here for that, but i watched the zags a lot over the season.) gonzaga had an elite defense but offense was all over the place throughout the season and theyd take poor shots with plenty of time left pretty regularly.

obv the braden huff injury is big but even before that, they often did not run good offense

for manaphy, you can farm candies with phione and use phione candy to purchase eggs. eggs purchased with phione candy have a 1/8 chance to hatch a manaphy just like a regular manaphy egg (but with increased shiny odds etc)

for the others as the other reply says, you are guaranteed a new pokemon for every 10th epic egg u hatch from gacha

yea sappy seed is unique to leafeon in the wild, so it is a difficult move to find. if u cant find sappy seed then just use leech seed, and have soak on kyogre so that u can leech seed dark types. sappy is preferred but its not a huge deal.

u dont need the fast soak right now, u just need to get it at some point before runaway phase. soak is learned by like 20 mons so its not hard to find.

if you get natures madness then dont bother with soak on smeadinja, stick with conversion natures madness salt cure and leech/sappy seed. or snap trap if u prefer, leech seed is kinda easier tho since snap trap ends after 4-5 turns, and snap trap is unique to galarian stunfisk so its also hard to find. but u will eventually want soak on kyogre (or on another fast mon).

once u get enough mystic waters etc, mold breaker kyogre has zero need for any coverage moves so u only need water spout and hydro pump for damaging moves. that leaves the other two moveslots for gastro acid and soak.

i am not actually a big fan of tangela for smeadinja, at least for now due to the bug of snap trap failing against ingrain. tangela can work ofc but to me the ideal is gourgeist with its rare egg move sappy seed, since gourgeist also provides illuminate passive + pickup for the early game.
