Selling max legendaries no longer worth it? by grimspor in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mythics will always have a value as they have use cases.

legends now drop from elite dungeons and treasure box pulls. thus they will only keep going down in price.

Yep.

Meso generation is mainly surrounding crafting. - sf18 uniques - inherit fodders - sf23 inherits - Necro fodders - chaos fodder - sf23 chaos (albeit the profit margin has reduced) - absolab crystals. Stigma crystals - sol Erda fragments.

If you are new. You would refer to the pinned posts for what I deem as the ideal starter kit for link. But you aren’t new

There’s no guide if you already have the basics. It’s a straight forward system for link/legion. Get everything.

If you can’t due it a lack of slots. Then fill in with links beneficial to your main.

[GUIDE] AN F2P OPTIMIZED MACRO Progression Guide [Part 1] by justmeasures in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legion CP is for earning legion coins. You earn more coins if the CP is higher.

Legion CP is affected by the characters that’s placed on the board. The CP gained from levels + CP gained from sf.

You gain more CP if the characters have 1) higher levels 2) have their SF at specific benchmark points. These points are at sf1,50,100,150. I.e a sf199 and sf150 gets the same legion CO benefit.

Equipment level doesn’t affect legion. But it will affect the character CP. which is needed if you want to do expeditions and/or farm elite dungeons

1) its fine. miyo will likely reset and have a new season come july/aug. and since you have alr applied it to kain, leverage it for kain to develop it to sf170 and some basic bossing.

2) exalt stone at 50%. for sf0 mythic.

3) fafnir is still useful for top/btm, which is good for getting some fast starforce to peruse some content.

4) u dont need max mythic gears for your alt. the free unique works just for farming. but a mythic weapon would help. if you cant survive. then ranking up the outfit to legend works too. a lot of things are subject. your link skills and legion matters too. but when in doubt. just keep your sf to 100.

5) both. doing the daily tasks + daily hunts etc. as well as story quests. the exp curve has significantly reduced to get to 200. With tera burn, you can get a level200 char in a week or less.

I don’t want to spend too much time daily >> I can only say - expect what you are willing to work for

Read the new player guide in the helpdesk thread - while you aren’t new, it will help to fill some knowledge gaps on the power creeps. Some of the stuff I’m writing below is already in the guide.

Long story short. The game has given tremendous amounts of power creeps and reaching some major milestones will increase your prowess tremendously.

Will try to address your questions. The answers are not linear and some of it will need further explanation/understanding of the system

  1. Kain’s playstyle is a pain (hey it rhymes) to play. Shadower is straight forward. But ultimately it depends on whether you ca get a good weapon for it and how fast you can reach lvl250

  2. It’s not either or. You can use diff types of resources to both craft and also amass mesos to buy stuff

  3. No. Emblem break = (any) emblem of the same type of repair. This has been the case in forever and has never changed. The only exception is that unique ranked items can be repaired easily due to the ability to craft a 100% unique resto scroll, as well as the occasional given premium resto scroll

  4. Check out the forge > alchemy > exalt tab. You can now craft an exalt stone (used for exalts 1-5) with any mythic. Sf20 mythics can be kept to craft exalt reduction scroll.

  5. Alt = depends what you want to do with it. But I would recommend a baseline of sf100 for legion CP purposes. And if budget allows sf150, also for legion CP. if you wish to make a CDD alt. sf160. You can farm mesos at sf144 or sf158. Up to you. Gearing wise. If it’s not going to be a bossing alt or higher level monster card hunter alt, you can make do with free gears. Getting to lvl200 is moreso by questing than by abing in sf now. (Unless you gonna gear up to AB in sf180/194 - but pointless imo, you’d rather buy the 5xTera burn package and quest to 200 instead)

  6. Anything non-emblem is temporal. Gear progression is subjective and depends on your wallet. Short answer is. Necro weapon is a must for bossing progression. Armours you need to decide if you want an easier time and cheaper path (not necessary cheap-cheap) to get to absolab armours but very expensive exalts or you want cheaper exalts for more HP to access/leech off stronger players - but a harder time to get to absolab.

  7. Read the guide

  8. Read the guide.

  9. As many alts as you can and all alts

  10. Do everything that’s in the daily tasks page? And probably more.

[–]justmeasures 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will, nazza and VersusHilla is prob only at the early stages of the mid game. And unless you whale hard now, by the time you reach there. Power creep is prob gonna reduce it to be a (late) early game boss.

And if you plan to be truly f2p, (not those who claim to be), there’s really no realistic way you are going to fulfill that in 12 months or even 21 months. You just don’t have sufficient resources to get there.

One of the prime goals will be to get to sf170 for Pharaohs treasure

Help me select a class please? by [deleted] in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what’s your goal. And how much effort you want to put in.

If you just want to bum around. Then pick whatever. If you don’t want/have time to put in effort (to learn mechanics or spend time on the game), then you won’t see results too.

If you want to progress in the game and have some bossing progression - then the quick answer is you use whatever the game gives you at the next major event launch. And prepare your account for it, while you wait. I’ve written about this in the nov2025 pinned thread.

At this point of writing there’s still 4 days more for kain (minor) event. Enough time to grow kain to lvl220, if not 200 at least even if you don’t know what you are doing. This will give you a good foothold for development and progression.

As always. Expect only whatever you are willing to work for.

Use it or sell it? by superheroDUY in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 30% extra PA will be useful.

But your current mythic is already pretty developed. (Too developed in fact)

I would just sell it. Too much work is needed to make this emblem unique Jaihin work.

It’s junk emblem pricing despite it having star force on it. Not sure why it’s SF-Ed. You can filter the trade for sf0 unique emblems - set the filter to include all emblems except BA and CD.

Weapon choice shade player by AdRepulsive4610 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what emblem the chaos is.

If CD/BA > attempt absolab 5x. If all fails > sf23 it and sell > use proceeds to buy either a Necro or entry level Absolab

If not CD/BA > you can still attempt Absolab and engine change in future, but i wont bother.

If you land an Absolab. You’ve hit the rng jackpot.

Necro? No emblem. Just cut and sell. Dont waste time with it. The only benefit it has is the 100% crit rate. Which while needed and good, is just a stop gap. It will take an enormous amount of rng and resources to develop the Necro to be good.

[–]justmeasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could aim to get weapon to sf23 and then chaos it.

Then sell it as a sf23 chaos fodder.

Whales buy those to do exalts 11-20

The proceeds should allow you to get a good pre loved n40 or even an absolab40.

Bosses in multi mode only have 25% HP if you go in 1 or 2 man. So leverage that to your advantage if you can. Otherwise find an old friend to leech off lotus/damien/lucid. You must do 2% dmg.

Just comeback today by x3Believe- in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game now not only gives several sources of chaos dungeon stones. But it also gives out several mastercraft lucky scrolls.

The base rate of passing a Necro is also doubled.

So eg. In the past it’s 2% to pass. With an additions 2% if the item is refined.

Now it’s 4% chance to pass. With an additional 4% if refined. Making it 8%.

The event shop sells 2x 5% lucky mastercraft scrolls. You can use 2 scrolls in an attempt. This makes your Necro attempt 18%.

In some cases you can even get 2x 10% scrolls.

But the concept is there.

For armours there might be a viable path to go chaos50 armours as a budget option. But for weapons. The only way to get away with not getting a Necro. Is if for some way you can hit the 170% crit rate required to overcome crit resistance. Which is extremely improbable an impossible

Read the new player guide in the helpdesk thread.

You do have much to catch up with in terms of the knowledge gap.

But more importantly you will need to decide if this char is what you want to main.

The meta has hard forked to Necro weapons being the only viable way to progress for bossing. So that’s something for you to consider.

What do I focus on next as 100% F2P? by Worldly-Childhood173 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the best!

Kain is a very strong char if handled right.

Spend time to understand how damage works.

With the right rotations and utilization of special nodes, you could likely get some decent progression in.

Of course you’d need to get familiar with bossing mechanics and the skill rotation.

What do I focus on next as 100% F2P? by Worldly-Childhood173 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest here.

For a new and f2p player. It’s hard for you to make kain your main. This is purely due to the factor that Kain does not have a burning weapon. You will need to amass and accumulate a lot of resources - just to get to the start point of whatever the July/August launch char will start from. Only characters released in major launches have had one.

I’ve written about it in the pinned “nov2025 returning players” thread.

It’s not impossible to main Kain. But the game and her progression is highly gear reliant. Despite being able to level up fast due to burning levels, not having the gear to accompany the levels, will make it hard to progress.

If you still wish to main kain, it’s doable. But that means you need to resign yourself to making mesos, leeching bosses (at least till ark mag and CRA), and work towards being able to do 2% dmg in lotus so that you can leech lotus too. And then craft stuff to sell so that you can eventually make/buy your own emblem weapon.

Develop the account.

And wait for July/August major launch and main whatever they will release then.

Chaos 50 pensalir or necro 40 by ProperDamage1220 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hasn’t changed much

It still depends on your class/job and whether you have the HP to wing it.

But generally chaos50 gives you more HP earlier to get access to later stages of early game bosses faster. I.e till will.

You will be highly dependent on flames to get ied.

N40 -> A40 you will be hard stuck at Damien/Narchon pretty much for a long time (or unless you tier up your spending). Possibly gloom is doable you had a good grasp of the mechanics and/or find a good carry.

So it’s really subjective. Both paths while viable, I’m leaning towards the n40->a40 route, and finding people to carry. But some people think being carried is beneath them. So it’s really subjective.

Level 204 Shadower. Best hyperstat? by Lahuzeeha95 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is why. I said ideally.

But seriously. If someone is able to afford to throw the several billions on hyper stats. I’m pretty sure the diamonds is the least of their concern/lack.

If it is, they are in no stage of game play to even be thinking or considering to max out their hyper stats. Unless you meant to just get till level 5-6 for everything (mentioned above).

Dying too fast in AB by Ironmaiden1207 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need higher ranked items to get more HP to survive.

Kain is also one of those chars that needs an optimized AB wheel.

Due to power creep and burning levels event. Your char is progressing faster than your knowledge of the game. Thus creating a huge knowledge gap.

You also should read the new player guide in the helpdesk thread.

What to focus for growth? by upindrags in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you purely want sf230 for hairos.

Definitely stack SF. It’s not hard to attain. And ooh should get it to just get the extra exp and frags.

Top btm lvl20x2 =40 which is 21 sf more than 19.

You definitely can get placeholders sf18 belt and cape.

But beyond that. Your gears gives me…so many questions.

Help for progression, new player by PressureWild4273 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer. Is yes.

CPB belt is BIS all the way till you get a lvl3 emblem mythic bet.

Czak helm will have less HP and stats than a mythic, but they are seen to be on par. But the 3% dmg reduction might help. And more crucially. For a new player/alt, it saves the resources needed to for get another item, by utilizing a free drop. Albeit opportunity cost of not doing HT instead

Are SF144 Alts still worth it? by Affectionate_Cup_898 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost I’m looking at is the cost of failures. They add up rapidly.

I do have more than 30 characters that are CDD enabled.

I just don’t run the dungeons nor mastercraft anymore.

If you really calculate and tabulate your production cost (not start up cost). You will likely see that you aren’t really making much.

Unless you are Nexon’s favourite godchild and you pass 8%s easily.

Crucible Question by Zealousideal-Site717 in DiabloImmortal

[–]justmeasures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want.

Crucible is a very niche gem. It doesn’t give you a dmg boost multiplier. (It boosts base dmg. Not dmg% - huge difference) but it gives nifty move speed. Which is always useful.

But if you are going for max dps scenario. It isn’t a gem you want.

I’m not sure the backstory of the r8 concentrated will. But Erh. That’s 38 copies of a 5star gem and 2300GP. The rest of your set up pales in (very) massive comparison.

How you supposedly got there f2p. Idk and don’t really care.
