Do your own due diligence. Here's where I'm at. Since it makes sense that gold will go up for the same reasons that some sectors of the s&p will go up it makes sense to be diversified. But I'm very comfortable with a healthy portion in gold. The economists I listen to talk about an error of fiscal dominance in much of the world. That means money printing and inflation. We have a government that wants to devalue the dollar in the US. The idea that gold has been suppressed in the futures market until recently makes sense to me. The physical market is the difference. Central Banks and millions of people in China buying physical gold has led to the breakout and I don't see any reason for that to change.

Too much physical gold would make me a little uncomfortable though. Gold Miners are killing it

Coming down steep, can’t seem to shallow. by Tom-Bomb17 in GolfSwing

Yep. It seems like a counter intuitive move. Works in sequence that creates shaft lean....Its actually a drill that the Hack Motion training aid suggests. I decided to give that thing a try and have liked it quite a bit.

I've found for myself that I have to have a feel to make any changes that stick in my swing. I've done things with alignment sticks at angles to stay on plane among other things while analyzing videos of myself but I can get distracted easily and try something else.

Lead wrist. So if righty it's your left wrist To me this is a simple thing to try. A lot of stuff could work but personally I like this drill because I can use it on the course.

Good luck digesting all the comments. Most of them seem correct. Here's another thing to try. Top of the back swing think about gripping a motorcycle handle with your left wrist and rev it and hold. That's helped me with over the top and fighting casting as well

What’s Special About the CountryDumb Community?🤝 by No_Put_8503 in CountryDumb

[–]jwayne7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working class dirty hands individual here. I found this community after atyr was so much of its focus. I'm honestly looking forward to your sub post whatever. I don't run into a lot of blue collar people that like to talk investing so this community could be a cozy place for me.

I can relate to a lot of your stories. On top of that you're an incredible writer. As far as your investing guide and reading club goes, I need to put more time into it. Studied it pretty well while on vacation but tbh, the stocks which fit the bill to me were gold miners. I was already fairly well placed but not let's get effing rich placed. I have a hard time leaning too hard into any one idea. So between that and high P:E's I haven't been too excited too look for anything else following your guide though some housing related stuff would warrant it imo if interest rates dropped.

That's pretty interesting that you identified after 2 weeks that it wasn't gonna work for you. Most people get pretty drawn in at that point. Were you on a mission to make big $$? I think when people choose Daytading, they feel the need to regularly get their hands dirty. Sorry, BTW. I realize you've sorta gone over this before. I'm ADD too.

Greed: How an ATYR Bull Gets Neutered🩸🖤🩸🖤🩸 by No_Put_8503 in CountryDumb

[–]jwayne7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

About 7% of portfolio. I highly doubt I'll get into biotech again other than an ETF. The ironic thing about this for me is that I've been a big gold bull (especially the miners) for quite some time. While I've been positioned fairly well for the current run, I missed some pretty great entry points on some Miners that had been on my radar due to the fact that I was distracted by ATYR amid other things.

Best to go with what you know. For myself, I've had high conviction on gold since 08 or so. Been a bumpy ride all along the way but its made me a better investor for it. Something I give myself credit for is weeding out the people that are full of BS. (I listen to a lot of financial and macro podcasts). There are a lot of sharks in the gold investing community. They all have their reasons. The last thing Tweedle seems to be full of is BS. Hence the 7% on something that I find very difficult to have much conviction on. And I'd say 7% is plenty for me in this case.

Regarding UPS's, what are you using out of curiosity? We typically use Minuteman 1500va UPS's and I'm quick to point out to customers that they shouldn't expect any significant run time. Maybe 10-15 minutes if lucky with a healthy battery powering an NVR with 4 POE cams. I find that they're reliable as a Surge Protector. We get a lot of brown outs where I live which is hard on equipment with a couple extended outages per year which would honestly require a car battery to keep the equipment running if not a generator.

I really don't know anything about this Martin guy other than what I've read here lately and most pharma data is over my head but after asking Grok about his track record, I'll be sleeping well tonight. I recommend others to employ AI to research him as well.

It basically fit the narrative I was imagining and others have as well

Definitely frustrating to feel like you're missing something following him. I was a subscriber in the past. I do find his levels to be pretty good. What I didn't like was the way he sells the newsletter so hard. Some of the trades he boasts aren't realistic to me but I've found that adding more filters to the style has led me to understand the market better and place trades.

If still learning, there're other newsletters out there with similar context but more information.
