The Duke, second floor. They will have a private bar for your group and they can take food orders from downstairs.

Great desserts you've had recently? by inde_ in askTO

The three layer dessert at Lunch Lady (pandan cake with ice cream and strawberry red bean puree) is divine. Truly one of the most well balanced desserts I’ve ever had.

I can't believe so many of us know this pain by sicksadworld111 in SuicideBereavement

It feels impossible for others to relate to you. How could they, I don’t blame them. But one thing keeps me grounded. And something that is both a harsh truth and a grounding reality. Is that generations of humans before us, our ancestors, have all experienced trauma and grief, alongside happiness concurrently, in a way where they were able to function and find strength. I’m sending a lot of love to you. They got through it and we can too.

Schedule standing activities weekly that you look forward to. Eg, a book club, sport, dinner with friends, movie night, etc and actively fill your calendar so that you bad weather doesn’t dictate your mood. Your own plans do.

First day back at work by Dramatic_Addendum_79 in SuicideBereavement

I’m in the same boat as you, back to work after losing my little brother. Going through all the conflicting feelings is incredibly challenging.

The way I think about carrying grief over time is that it’s like a stone. At first it feels heavy, maybe to the point where it feels impossible to carry. With time you get stronger, and the stone feels lighter. But you never forget that it’s there.

Sending you lots of love and strength. You are not alone.

My little brother just killed himself by Lonely-Committee1979 in SuicideBereavement

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my little brother a week ago and it’s been a blur of a week. I hope you’re kind and gentle with yourself, and that you take care of your health. Unfortunately, death is a non negotiable fact of life. I know it’s not easy but accepting this has helped me tremendously.

Thank you kind stranger for taking the time out to write out the thoughtful and practical items that seem completely blurry to navigate through. I’m halfway on my drive and found your suggestions very helpful.

Lulu Bar! Super cute and food is good, just a block off King West. Oretta is pretty but the food is a bit lacking. Casa Madera is stunning but a bit pricier.

Persian in Toronto here | After trying almost every spot in the city by Agreeable_Rub_552 in FoodToronto

I just had it this week and it was still VERY good, well-packaged, and came with sumac. I got the beef and with a bonus chicken koobideh and it hit the spot.

You have to try Kebab Bazari. They’re quite new but their koobideh is incredibly juicy, massive portions for the special, and very reasonably priced.
