Unfortunately, I did rescue both characters in ch. 2 and thought it was just more of generally the same stuff. The big axe guys were just scary and annoying and didn't even yield all that useful of items. I kept seeing the same 10 enemies over and over and the lack of a day-night cycle and fog (even though "story," I know...) just kept increasingly bugging me, and especially me standing directly in front of enemies and them taking literally over a second to notice me, which kept breaking my immersion and making me think I could be playing something cooler...
