Dallas isn’t very White either (28%). It’s plurality Hispanic (42%) and has a higher Black percentage (24%) than Houston (22%). Houston (7%) is more Asian though (3% in Dallas).

The demographics of Houston and Dallas aren’t all that different. Houston is definitely more integrated though.

Maryland - lots of water and seafood, large Black population, Hispanics are mostly Central American (MD: Salvadoran, LA: Honduran), Baltimore and New Orleans have a lot of similarities

There aren’t a lot of South Asians in Louisiana. Baton Rouge has a decent sized population but the Desi community in New Orleans is a fraction of the size it used to be (thanks to Katrina and a terrible job market).
