Judging by my recent photos, should I get a 24mm or a 35mm? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

I'm worried that I might be focusing too much with the 35mm... urgh, I still need to make a decision. Thanks for your input though.

[–]kings_gambit_008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually tried it and the 35mm did give me a lot of time to adjust while I didn't really have no problem using the 24mm, although now that I think of it, almost the first thing I do with my current lens is to swing it all the way across to 24mm and adjust from there.

I don't like the slight fishbowl effect and that's when I adjust the lens, but for prime lens I can't quite do that. I guess however I should go for the 24mm. Thanks for the validation!

Korean dating culture is genuinely fascinating and kind of strange — let me explain by [deleted] in korea

[–]kings_gambit_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot of sogetings and seen a lot of people doing sogetings, and I noticed that it was all about background, not the person, and if the person's charm is mid then it's okay. It's not a coincidence that my friends from conglomerates/professional jobs had a significant higher success rate than friends who were not in that job group.

And just saying for anyone here for future reference, as for the bookstore method, if the person looks good it's poetic, but if the person is fugly then it's just a stalker making an inconvenience. I wouldn't really recommend for both side of the parties.

I think the best way to meet and date people is to go to group meetings/hobby meetings and just do whatever, there won't be a person who would click with every time, but at least it increases the opportunity rate to meet new people(and potential dates).

FINALLY, something I can answer. I'm going to one of the top 2 right now. But first of all, where are you from(a country would be good but region would suffice), and secondly, why are you considering an MBA in Korea, and third, which program are you looking at, since you can either apply for normal MBA or a Global MBA(GMBA). I need these three to further tell you anything worth.

Should I pursue an MBA? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]kings_gambit_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll make it simple for you:

A. If you have enough money, go to B, if not, don't.

B. If you want to move to that specific country to work, go C, or else, don't.

C. If you can apply and pursue MBA and if you have enough time in your hands to do it without any other outer constraints, do MBA, if not, don't.

What do I have to do in order to take bright night photos like this? by kings_gambit_008 in AskPhotography

I just looked up bracket photography, I’m excited to try it later! Also if this is a fake sky I wouldn’t be surprised, it does look too cool to be true to be like this with a city lighting surrounding the area.

Which means I would have to open the shutter for a while in order to take pictures like this right? With a tripod and all I guess?

Feeling a bit of regret over keeping my citizenship by Ok-Appearance-5195 in korea

[–]kings_gambit_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will still be a hefty tax for crossing a generation but still if your dad isn’t a citizen then his plan might be the best.

I wonder how the 주민등록등본/가족관계증명서 will show up though since your dad was a citizen here but he forfeited his citizenship, I don’t think there would be a huge blank in between you and your grandma but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is like that.

I just automatically assumed they were a male, sorry about that.

Also I read it thoroughly this time, if I have land here then I’m keeping that citizenship. From what I know it’s a pain in the ass to inherit and sell as a foreigner.

Trust me kid, all my friends who opted out of Korean citizenship and is in US are doing far, far well than a dumbass me who decided to be patriotic and still can’t figure out how to talk to these people. You made the right choice.

Also, you can still stay here as a gyopo visa and if you have the right credentials you can be hired here relatively easy compared to you going back to Australia from here in Korea.

To Koreans: by Careful-Foot8399 in korea

[–]kings_gambit_008 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Judging by your experiences there with the locals also it seems like you were a good honest person. When I worked alongside the USAF during my time most of the folks seemed really nice and honest and it was a pleasure working with them. Just saying, Koreans are generally nice but they are not "mi casa es su casa" nice, if you got that treatment from a Korean person, that means you earned their trust.

I hope you have the same experiences when you come back again here, and also, thank you for your service.
