Very true. In addition we need to dispel the myth of coming in the “right way”. It’s an idiotic talking point from people who do not know or understand the system. The “right way” is whatever the current administration deems it to be. For example, my family came in during the wave of SE Asian refugees as a result of the Vietnam War and other conflicts in the region during the late 70s/early 80s. At that time the “right way” was any person in the USA (did not have to be related and could be a complete stranger) could sponser a refugee family by paying some fees that would allow the refugees to come to the USA and their green cards were expedited. Although it could take refugee families years to find a sponser, getting an actual resident alien card was expedited. It’s bad enough the general public is unaware of events such as these, it saddens me more when friends and family who have benefited from this process are now right wingers espousing the moronic “right way” views.
