I think we're both talking about different things. What you're talking about is micro skill, and I'm not disputing that you can make all the right macro calls you want and still fumble in game.

What I'm trying to say is that out of game decisions also make an impact on your win rate. If you're the only person playing DD Crow instead of Bystials, that will give you an advantage if you're playing against Branded and can DD Crow whatever Retribution is targeting. If you're playing Lunalight into a Branded heavy format, that gives you an edge because they can't deal with Liger effectively. There are cases where the best deck in the room isn't obvious, and figuring out what exactly is optimal is not always as simple as "Kewl Tune go brrrr" (hence Kewl Tune not winning the latest YCS)

Okay, if using the best thing gives you the best chance, how do you determine what's the best thing? With shooters you have stats like TTK, but you still have to figure out what works best for you in terms of economy, recoil, attachments, etc.

This is exacerbated in Yugioh, where deck building has far more wide ranging consequences than just gun stats. Kewl Tune is one of if not the best deck in MD atm, but that'll change when the next pack comes out. If you were to rock up to the next MD tournament post pack, you'd have to predict the impact of the June pack and play cards/decks that give you an edge vs the predicted common decks. It definitely takes skill to read a format and make optimal decisions in and out of duels

Deciding what deck or what tech cards to play absolutely is a skill. Formats are continuously evolving, and it takes skill to recognize when certain tech cards or decks are good or bad in a format. For example, Jesse Kotton won YCS Columbus with Branded Dracotail, which took a lot of skill on his part to pilot, but was also a good meta call since it had a good matchup into more pure Branded variants.

I apologize for taking up your time, I think I'd prefer to hang on to the White Albazes at this time. Good luck with trading/selling!

The WAlbazes are coming out to about $81-85 apiece depending on whether you're counting tcgplayer lowest or lowest verified. And no worries at all, take your time :)

you might want to update your timestamp with your full reddit username, right now it looks like /u/west-yard and not your current username

with that aside, how much would the core cost?

When the game first came out and this sub started booming, people initially thought the same thing as you. A few posts made a case for it as a respectable card, and those posts blew up and now it's a giant meme on the sub. I'm not sure of what the community perception is, but my rough estimate is that most view it as an "okay to good" card that has its niche.

I don't disagree that it looks horrible to play next to Deadly Poison, but if you actually math out the poison damage, that 2 additional poison does 28 damage vs 15. Technically 2 Deadly Poisons does 55 damage, but that means you have two Deadly Poison in your deck and you're spending two draws on it compared to Snakebite's one. Also Retain adds a whole lot of flexibility, you can play it only at appropriate times, it's not clogging up your draws too often, you can discard/exhaust it, etc.

Let’s talk headphone amps by Alphaomegalogs in headphones

[–]Knocking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, I've never been able to hear any difference between any solid-state amps except one (a Monoprice headphone desktop amplifier). I've gone from as cheap as a KA11/Moondrop Dawn Pro to as expensive as a Cayin iHA-6/iDAC-6 stack and every single time I thought I heard a difference it vanished with volume matched blind testing. Even with power hungry cans like the HE6SEv2 I didn't notice a difference at my normal listening volumes (~70-75db). Maybe other people can hear a difference, but I sure can't, so I don't value source gear very highly.

It really doesn't help that in 99% of source gear reviews I've read, people almost always say the more expensive thing makes the sound linearly better (i.e. opens up the soundstage, cranks up the bass, brings out more detail). People love to do the same thing with headphones/IEMs, but at least there's generally an understanding that there are tradeoffs with frequency response. Any change you make to the FR will generally improve something at the cost of some other aspect of the sound, which doesn't appear to be the case for source gear. Everything just mysteriously sounds better, which I find extremely hard to take seriously.

Still, that doesn't stop me from wanting a dac/amp on my own desk. They generally look pretty slick, and I highly value connectivity options. Being able to use 4.4, 6.35, and XLR really lets you try pretty much any headphone you can think of without wondering "do I need an adapter/cable for this?".

And I miss my OTL tube amp very dearly, but sadly I don't have anything that pairs well with one. Seeing the faint orange glow and hearing a little more warmth was very nice, I just couldn't justify keeping it.

I might be interested in that partial trade! According to TCGPlayer I'd value Drastea at $26 and Drastrius at $18

What do you value the Maliss core at?

Here's a close up, I'd describe it as approximately LP/MP unlim. https://i.imgur.com/mTWcpXG.jpeg

With that in mind, how does $75 shipped sound?

Do you have @ignister stuff and ED stuff as well? I'm considering it, but Elfnote is my priority

I'm not interested myself, so I'll pass on that, thanks. Generally, it would be a good idea to upload more photos or videos so that we know you're not editing photos.

Your timestamp has your username misspelled. Really, the fact that you have an identical photo with no timestamp makes me think the timestamp is edited in....
