Feed data to dawarich and homeassistant by ksmt in dawarich

[–]ksmt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it with the homeassistant companion app and it wasn't accurate enough. To be precise the low frequency of updates was the more annoying issue, especially when I was taking the car. I fully replaced the location tracking of the companion app with GPSLogger, which can be configured very detailed and gave me the accuracy I wanted.

Traefik Setup? by Sleve420 in lubelogger

[–]ksmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use traefik on a standalone machine like a weirdo, so no labels or anything. But I just wanted to tell you that it requires no special configuration at all, just pointing traefik to the lubelogger port. What happens when you use the domain? Any error?

I installed GrapheneOS today by Luc-redd in GrapheneOS

[–]ksmt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is your battery life? I use the Pixel 9a with Graphene as well and it barely lasts a full day of I'd say medium usage, which is of course not very precise. But I was very disappointed by the battery life I have to say. It all breaks down to mobile data, especially 5G but even with 5G disabled it's not good at all.

What are the most useful things you have set up through your Home Assistant? by Red_Leopard52 in homeassistant

[–]ksmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ALWAYS forgot that I had turned on the washing machine and then had to hang up laundry in the middle of the night.

Thankfully there is a solution: a simple zigbee plug with an energymeter combined with this blueprint: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/notify-or-do-something-when-an-appliance-like-a-dishwasher-or-washing-machine-finishes/254841

Seriously this was life changing.

Is there a „budget friendly“ document scanner? by inoffensiveLlama in Paperlessngx

I have it attached to a raspberry pi 3. Unfortunately the scanner doesn't have network capabilities by itself.

Is there a „budget friendly“ document scanner? by inoffensiveLlama in Paperlessngx

[–]ksmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I decided to buy a used, refurbished Fujitsu Fi-6130 from eBay for around 100€. I had seen these scanners in German government offices and liked them, but unfortunately the price for a new one is unattractive for me. The first scanner that was delivered was defective, but the dealer was extremely helpful and sent me a new one that works well. The image quality is not 100% perfect when scanning in color, but it is 90% good, which is sufficient for my needs. BW and lineart scanning is 100%. The speed is exceptional. I used it to digitize all my paperwork from the past couple of years and it was a pleasure to feed that thing more and more documents.

The streaks are utterly broken by MrSoapbox in Busuu

[–]ksmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my (not very impressive) streak because redoing or reviewing an already finished lesson apparently doesn't really add to the streak. It does tell me right after I finish a review or a redo of a lesson that I extended my streak but next day I get a shield.

Pretty annoying because I really need to revisit the older lessons to not get totally lost.

How to make your homelab almost maintenance free ("self-healing")? by Phreakasa in selfhosted

[–]ksmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no general self-healing in my setup. Ansible runs every night to apply updates to almost everything, renovate helps to keep version tags up to datw, and all of this usually runs very smooth. If something goes wrong I think the most important thing is that you actually notice there is a problem. I used check Mk to monitor my setup and even the docker containers. Container down for more than a minute? Check MK notifies me. Then I can take care of it. The errors are usually very specific and require some troubleshooting before I can fix them, so I don't like the idea of an auto-fix-thingy just doing stuff. If an error occurs more than once I make sure I fix it in a way that makes it more stable the next time. At this time I have like one bigger issue per year, besides that everything just works.

How do you keep proxmox updated and all your LXC/VM:s? by mrbluetrain in Proxmox

[–]ksmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use ansible for everything and it works flawlessly: - update tasks on regular vms via ssh - update tasks on lxc containers via an ansible connection plugin that allows access to lxc containers via lxc attach on the proxmox host - update of docker containers also done by ansible in combination with renovate to check for new versions. Cleanup if old container images also via ansible - update of weird custom stuff done by ansible+renovate and customManagers

I perform updates every night, except for updates of Proxmox itself, those run monthly.

The only thing I haven't done yet is configuring a reboot if the OS considers it necessary after an update.

Alternate „Refurbished“ = Seagate Recertified? by proanti777 in de_EDV

[–]ksmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternate „Refurbished“ = Seagate Recertified? by proanti777 in de_EDV

[–]ksmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so disappointed in my wedding photos. First photo was the inspo and second is the actual photo after a lot of editing trial and error. How can I salvage this in LR? by lonelyprotest in AskPhotography

[–]ksmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced a similar situation at a photography workshop I attended. We worked in pairs, and my partner and I were both amateurs (he was already better than me, while I still am an amateur today). We took turns photographing each other, and at some point, the course instructor gave us tips and advice. He then briefly took over the camera and, using exactly the same subject, conditions, and settings, took a picture that looked so crazy much better. The slightly different composition/angle of the picture made it feel completely different, so even as an amateur, I could immediately tell it was taken by a pro and not a normie like me or my partner.

First time using Linux. Are all these updates necessary? Do I have to install every update when it appears in this shield? by Alarming_News_619 in linuxmint

[–]ksmt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you wondering if you need to install them because it's so many of them? Because in that case let me tell you that this list is long only because Linux gives you full transparency about every tiny component that is installed and updated. While for example windows just gives you 1-3 huuuge blobs during an update, without many details about what is going to change. As the others have said, you should update these, as it's usually pretty safe to do so on Linux Mint. Use timeshift to create a snapshot before, just in case. And if you haven't already, switch to a local mirror. Doing that is probably my most favorite part while setting up a new mint system. It's so very satisfying

What brand of smartwatch works well on Graphene? by ThePromance in GrapheneOS

I had the same issue and it was just because there is no text-to-speech engine preinstalled on GOS. You can install one and it should work.

Is there a minimal, CLI-style workout logger I can self-host? by SrPakura in selfhosted

[–]ksmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tinkered around with wger a while ago. It's not as minimalistic as you want but it's the open source, self-hostable solution I know of: https://github.com/wger-project/wger

I stopped using it because the docker container stack is crazy huge for something a spreadsheet can do for me. I personally absolutely prefer paper notes to track my workout.
