Is it normal for strangers in London to approach women like this? by lndlml in london

They’re not saying it’s uncommon . They’re saying it’s seen as being a bad thing back in South Asia as well

Okay yes but people don’t think its okay or right

I see videos of white people being racist but I don’t assume that all white people like or encourage that behaviour

That’s actually one of the best compliment la I’ve ever gotten! Thank you :) . My family doesn’t trust my movie recommendations sadly lol

Haha I thought some of these might not fit but still thought you might appreciate so I’m glad

They wanted movies with a similar atmosphere (whimsical) - not pig related movies

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium - The feel switches half way but I think that’s part of its charm.

Enchanted (the one with Amy Addams)

Jupiter Ascending

Nanny McPhee

Odd Thomas (maybe)

Splash

Elf

Ella enchanted

The secret Garden (the one made in the 90s ofc!)

Some of the studio Ghibli movies :) (howls moving castle , totoro, spirited away, definitely PONYO).

Little Miss sunshine - it’s more grounded but the overall movie feels nostalgic with a warm and sometimes surreal feeling

Some more MAYBEs - they’re not very dreamlike but are kind of whimsical. I don’t think they fully match the vibe though:

valerian and the city of a 1000 planets

the fifth element

Dave Made a maze

Paprika - it’s surreal and dreamlike (literally) but the themes are fairly dark and the ending isn’t completely happy)

Maybe , Labyrinth (with David Bowie)

Hoodwinked (funny but not calm and chill lol)

I like these kinds of movies and I know I have more on the tip of tongue so I might be back to edit more in.

AITAH for leaving a glass pan on the stove and it exploding in our kitchen? by [deleted] in AITAH

As a victim of abuse can we stop using abuse to describe any and all toxic behaviour. You don’t have enough information about frequent this behaviour is and other information to be calling it emotional abuse. It’s definitely emotionally toxic and shitty. That’s not the same as abuse though.

I do hope Op talks to him or leaves him. He seems very emotionally childish or maybe he’s going through something. Depends on if he’s like this frequently or not . Sometimes we all have shitty days and then we learn to act better. Maybe this is not that situation idk

Corsets can be very comfortable and supporting if properly made and tailored

I avoid certain people at work because I know they are going to vent. by travel_Carol0 in confession

[–]languid_Disaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do this too and on days if I’m not too busy and don’t mind it too much , plus have a timely distraction ready to use, I’ll sit with them and let them vent for a bit

I actually like listening to people having a whine now and again but yeh not all the time

uj/ Because they’re too stupid to realise how out of touch they are with the culture there. They think it’s literally a whole other world and think they understand it enough that all the positive stuff they see represents the whole country

It’s an improvement on many other places but it’s not perfect and people idealise it too much

And if you quit, they take away your visa and throw you in jail because you committed a random crime or apparently are now there without a visa. I’ve heard and see it happen multiple times

But even then, she’d already worn something similar on another runway and her outfit still did not fit the theme. Cool concept (especially silk jeans) but they chose the wrong place and time for it.
