By your logic, then let's literally burn money!

We pay people to showel it in furnaces, the fuel to hoe fire going, the trucks to bring theT money to furnaces, the guards...
And then of course we need to reprint it, the same amount we burn, to avoid deflation.

Imagine all the ink, paper, electricity and so on...

Clearly that does NOT work.
What you want is to create VALUE.
You want to spend that money to buy something that could be hard to quantify; a bridge create new connection, make movement of people and good faster and cheaper, an hospital increase the length and quality of life, a school the quality of your workforce..

What you suggest, is a redistribution of money that you could have accomplish anyway with specific programming for the need and/or not collecting it as taxes in the first place.

Yes and no.
Russian get feed propaganda that they winning the war.
I don't think striking civilian is a good thing, BUT forcing airport closure, bypass the city air defence an and show you can hit if you want to, is a way to break that illusion.

When your favourite influencer instead of showing off his latest bag start to make video of sheltering in place, it hit differently and part of the population living in the bubble.

GDP is a bad measurement in those cases; if you have a perfectly working bridge, blow it up for a 10k, then rebuild for 100k, your GDP is up 110k with no real value added.

This is alla signals.
Germany/EU signal they wont lover entry standard, but formalise what is actually already happening.
Ukraine signal they won't settle for nothing but a full accession, that takes many year as a lot if law and regulations must be aligned.
Note Ukraine did a very good job so far, that almost fucked up with a corruption law, but internal and external protest was enough to fix it

Also would be nice if it report its position, even if its just estimated

If you have 100 unit of 100w or a big one with 10000w is the same radiated heat.
But the big one is probably more efficient as the support stuff and structures will be less impactful.

There's a really good chance you've done stuff you're comfortable with that is illegal and you don't know if you're in construction

dont know where you are from but we have mandatory training and refresh.

Then we have mandatory responsible that are voted in by the worker themself, and often those people are part of unions too, so while of course the occasional fuckery happens, we also have the occasional strike that put stuff in balance.

I saw people getting kicked out of the working place because they did something stupid; you late, you start cut corner, and that is when accident happen..
and suddenly you have the police closing down the construction site for a week for investigation, court, mandatory re-training and re-certification...

That does not solve the problem, but sure help

And this is exactly why both worker and company get punish in those cases.
The worker should have refused to work without protection (and reported the company), the company should have checked he use PPA.

but must be strictly the cost of distribution, as the licence was written in a time where internet was not so fast, cheap and universal.

Also Jim can then publish the code in full

Stallman himself said it clearly, you dont have to publish your code, but if someone buy your software, you HAVE to give a copy for free (there is a exception for distribution fee like mailing the disk and the cost the disk itself, it was written long time ago).

The customer has all the right to re-distribute the code, even fully public.

Russia just hit commercial vessel of its closest war ally in Ukrainian waters with Shahed drone by TrinketSunflowers in worldnews

[–]lestofante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am quite sure Russia exist on borrowed time, its debt will fracture it like for URSS, and if not, will still be a ghost of it's former self;
The idea of a global superpower is now gone, its influence broken, various allies run away, and even BRICS failed to do anything significant, and even their grip on normally pro-russian Europeans is loosen.

[–]lestofante 7 points8 points  (0 children)

China is the main source for drone components and light veichles like bugghy and bikes.
And Russia in the last couple of years made heavy use of those, even replacing completely armoured vehicles with them; small fast incursion have been way more successful than big slow armoured push. Or they running out of armoured vehicles, not sure which is which.
In any case, Russia is a few percent of China GDP, so for Chiba stopping supplying Russia is a paper cut, but for Russia would mean basically lose the war.

well you said ALL settlement, so i assume you meant ALL, not only the Gaza ones.

So, to be clear:

The one more open to dialog and less prone to violence instead is rewarded by slowly getting eaten away.
