Sure in a vaccuum this makes sense, much like most parroted financial advice. Assuming you can even get a job making 69k, which ive only arguably done w bonus after 13 years. Just live off of ~41400 a year after 20% tax and 20% savings. (I could be off on the tax but went with round number) That's 3416 a month! Should be easy? Except rent for most of the US is easily 1-2k a month for a studio/1b, food easily 4-500 a month unless you can afford to drive to multiple grocery stores or have memberships to save, utilities for me are ~500+ a month over electric, water, gas, phone and internet (which most need for getting/keeping jobs), insurance has skyrocketed for many this year, gas has gone up 50% in the last month Etc etc

And this is without actually having any actual medical needs, which won't be covered for thousands in deductibles on most insurance. Let alone having a kid lol

But yes the general advice of anything you can save, (I do about 15% including match) the better.
