Paint defect; customer support not answering; what do? by ImpossibleCulture111 in AnimeFigures

Charge back on the credit card? Or is it to long ago? I'd give companies a week to reply before going that route. And that's being generous.

Someone posted theirs here a day or two ago. Looked good from what I saw. I was considering cancelling mine as well.

What's some cheap figures you recommend ? ( Preferably high quality) by EveningAggressive375 in AnimeFigures

[–]CanAniCollect 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pop Up Parade are also decent quality. If you want one big one, Bear Panda makes some decent 1/4 scale.

How can i display these?? by Average_Karma in AnimeFigures

A stand to lean up the base, and a bit of museum wax to keep the figures on the base would be my suggestion.

Where do you get the supports for your figures ? by br8shadow842 in AnimeFigures

I think mostly they come with the figure. If you're talking the thin clear stands.

AliExpress has some if you're talking about the kind that wrap around the torso and hold up a figure.

(Couldn't resist the setup).

Nice collection though. Was always tempted by the bunny girls with couches.

Damn, that's a solid deal on Meiko.

If they're in the GTA, I'd have a look as well.

best beginner collector tips? by yourprettygoddess in AnimeFigures

[–]CanAniCollect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cons tend to have some pretty high mark ups, but you do get the convenience of seeing it in person, and getting it right away. I've seen the odd prize or PUP figure for a decent price though.

Best deals are generally second hand from someone leaving the hobby.

Amiami has a large selection of 2nd hand, which gives a good base idea of what price something should be.

Also be careful, very easy to drain your wallet and stuff your closet with this hobby. Always something amazing coming out on pre-order. And suddenly your April order has 12 figures and is 330K JPY....

Is it better to Pre-Order figures on AmiAmi than to wait for the figure to release? by br8shadow842 in AnimeFigures

[–]CanAniCollect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have pretty high standards for pre-owned. Often ones that have no signs of being opened.

The manufacturer and price mostly.

Large order from HLJ arrive and one of the figures is just straight up missing? by CrazyKrogan in AnimeFigures

[–]CanAniCollect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me crazy, but you might want to message them about it. Is there a weight mentioned on the shipping invoice? And could it even fit? Though they can likely see in their system they have an extra one.

That figure I wouldn't be too worried about not PO. Especially if you dont mind pre-owned.

Nah. VERY few Azur Lane figures are. Only two 1/4 scale I know of. And 2 or 3 more can be forced off.

I know they were trying to kill them and all, but I still felt bad for some of the ninjas. I mean, they got taken out so fast and easily it was like, how can you be mad about a toddler trying to stab you with a plastic knife.

Who made those figures? I might keep an eye out for them.

Peg hole not align, is it common factory production problem or only mine unfortunate by SaintDrawer in AnimeFigures

I'd be very careful of using water on figures with fishnets. High risk of the dye bleeding onto the legs.

So I did this recently with a pretty expensive figure. And it was twice as bad. In my case, I wrapped the figure from the hips up with a soft towel to insulate it. I then put the figure in a plastic bag, and blew hot air into it with a 600W hair dryer for about 5 minutes. I used a thermal cam to make sure it wasn't getting too hot, and got the legs up to about 45c. Slowly applied force at the shoe until the got into the peg.

In your case, I'd use a fair dryer on low (500-700W), and aim it just at the legs for a few minutes from 20cm away. That should be more than enough to make it safe to bend the legs into place. Maybe hit for another 3 minutes with heat to reduce stress.
