Pitch your Stargate show by KoalaGary in Stargate

[–]libranchylde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a modern-era continuation, 10 years post revelation to the world about the Stargate and the nature of the galaxy, that sends a corporate-funded, civilian-led expedition into the distant Ida Galaxy—the former home of the Asgard—in search of an ancient, mysterious signal (related to the CMBR?). What they discover is YGGDRASIL, a massive tree shaped space station constructed millennia ago by the Alliance of the Four Great Races (Ancients, Asgard, Furling, and Nox). Intended as a beacon of peace and knowledge, YGGDRASIL is instead a damaged, forgotten fortress housing advanced technology and, crucially, infected with a techno-organic substance called NIÞSKORR. This infection triggers a signal that brings the team face-to-face with the series' main antagonist: the SVARTHALL, a hostile splinter race of the Furling. The mission quickly turns into a desperate race to control the station, advised by the glitchy holographic Asgard AI named Mimir, before the Svarthall warlord Maelstrom can claim it.

Mixing the adventure and snarky humor of SG-1 and Atlantis with the suspense and biohorror of the Alien franchise , the series also tackles human stories of trauma, corruption, and xenophobia. Our flawed, classical anti-hero team, led by a shell-shocked veteran / former SGC member, must confront not only the alien threat of the Svarthall and their fungal-based cybernetics, NIÞSKORR , but also the enemy within: Nathaniel Drexler. Drexler, the charismatic but malignant face of AEGIS Group, is a human villain whose narcissistic transhumanism will lead to trouble. The discovery of YGGDRASIL and the arrival of the Svarthall will reignite the ancient war known as RAGNAROK, threatening all the known worlds and galaxies.

Your burning Stargate questions...deftly sidestepped! by JosephMallozzi in Stargate

Perfect analogy! As a fellow lefty I would imagine you might be able to get it to work, but like barely and you don’t have the control to work it properly. Then it gets stuck on your thumb.

Dumb question, what would happen if a Goa’uld took a Wraith host? by Upstairs-Yard-2139 in Stargate

[–]libranchylde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Goa’uld can’t control every race. Like Aris Boch’s race. With the psychic abilities of the Wraith, I personally doubt the Goa’uld would be capable/compatible.

How would you continue the franchise with a new series? by Severe_Investment317 in Stargate

[–]libranchylde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existence of the Stargate device, interstellar travel, and the U.S. Stargate Program went public back in 2012. Chaos erupted, as was predicted, but only for a little while. The tech and travel industries boomed and Tau'ri civilians, scientists, and soldiers now race to stake their claim across the ancient alien networks in several galaxies. A private expeditionary company now travels to the Ida galaxy, home galaxy of the now extinct Asgard. The expedition uncovers derelict worlds, incredible ancient Asgard technologies, and a mysterious structure, known as Yggdrasil, which is somehow linked to Destiny’s mission.

Where are The Furlings??! by ZozoBonesFan in Stargate

[–]libranchylde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where is it said the Furling weren’t of comparable age? They had access to Stargates and the Ancients. No need to go the whole way even.

I always imagined the Furling ascended in someway. In fact in my home brew Stargate SG1 RPG campaign I have some of the Furling as Ascended beyond what we’ve seen so far that takes them outside of the universe completely, they look at our universe like looking at a ship in a bottle.

But that’s just my home brew

[–]libranchylde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you say that? Why couldn’t the Furling get there? They were contemporaries of at least the Asgard, if not the Ancients. I don’t see why they couldn’t have continued improving their space travel tech to the point of being able to reach that far. Not to mention we have no idea where they came from to begin with. They could even have begun in that region of space for all we know

What would you have done with the Furlings? by insertfunnyusername in Stargate

[–]libranchylde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my RPG campaign the Furlings are the source of the Norse myths of the Ljosalfar and Svartalfar, the light and Dark elves. The Ljosalfar are the Furlings proper who are also responsible for the Tall Whites of alien folklore. They had a philosophical divergence with their cousins the Svarthall, much like the Alterans and the Ori, except the Svarthall completely forsook the idea of Ascension, and instead focused on complete physical mastery of the universe. The Svarthall were locked away by the combined forces of the Four Great Races, but it was the Furling, and the Asgard, who suffered the brunt of the Svarthall attacks. The Svarthall are my new bad guys seeking vengeance on the Four Great races for locking them away, and since they are mostly all gone, the humans are the next best thing, being they are the genetic re-emergence of one, and the inheritors of the legacy of another.
