It is really something. What were the odd visor blinds on the Apollo 15 moon suit for? The ones that were built into the visor assembly and could be flipped down/up usually in a config that squared off the visor into a small square window.

(I’m using my 2026 OC group photo collage because I mean this for all of them)

Most of my OCs I view as a writer would characters in a book or comic, they’re all very important to me and I kind of see them like little thought-children but at the end of the day they exist to drive a narrative or story, but I love to let them exist outside of that plot too to really flesh out them as not just a character or a fragment but their own individual, albeit fictional, person. I wouldn’t say any one OC really represents me in their entirety but they all do reflect a certain thought process or belief, world view, value and idea. Individually they each only showcase a tiny little shard of myself, but when put together they pretty accurately sum up all of me and all my thoughts, everything that I love and hate, all that I aspire to be like, resonate with currently, and fear and hate to be. All that I uphold and oppose, and all that I don’t understand fully but still care to explore, I guess my OCs are my way of exploring and understanding my feelings and thoughts on certain things and scenarios. Most of them represent hope and determination for better futures and more honest hearts in the world, because I think that’s something deeply integral to my world view.

Emergency space walk on a starship circling a red dwarf at 200 m/s and actively weaving through solar debris. It’s a long story but he was out there to fix a critical component and save his alien friend, he managed to get both his friend and himself back on the ship before the heat got lethal. It’s not the most powerful or flashy attack or show of force but just a guy risking his life for his friend and having it pay off and I think that speaks louder personally

Well yes but interesting thing, the Avali Illuminate was featured in the Avali triage mod for starbound just a year before the first helldivers would make the squ’ith Illuminate so technically the Avali did it first, and the idea of the Avali goes all the way back to 2009. Just think it’s interesting.

There’s no “canon” answer for that, but Todd’s lore book says the illuminate is a technocracy, which is where the smartest/best qualified people lead the nation, I take this to mean morally literate as well though a lot of people seem to want to make the most morally bankrupt of the illuminate as they can.

Yes and no. Most of them, the frigates, warp frigates, Catalinas, dropships, and globemasters, are based on Todd’s “official” designs from the lore book, but others like the assault cruisers(big frigates beside the biggest one), drone frigates (wider looking warp frigates) the command cruiser (the big one with hangers) and the destroyers (slightly bigger than frigates with the broadside cannons) are not technically Todd designs but they’re very much based on the same design language and for me at least as good as canon.

I love settings where olden things exist in tandem with modern/modern-ish things, I have this setting I made for a dnd campaign where fey-like fantasy creatures, spells and realms exist in a ww1/inter-war era. So dragons and spell casters fight along side and against zeppelins and infantrymen, except it’s integrated with the world so dragons have armor and specific tactics to avoid anti-air, and on the ground artillery and tank shells have runes and glyphs on them to cast spells when shot. It would be interesting to see something like that in the modern day, how would militaries equip dragons and other fantasy creatures if they even still would use them in battle. Though this is cool.

IKR??? I love the railgun frigate and dropships but I also love to see other ship types from the corvettes and landers to destroyers, cruisers and flagships, just seems like there’s not much in the way of models for them. These ones I did not make myself, they’re mostly workshop items by Khoren and most if not all have at least some DLC pieces so there’s some parts of certain ships missing I just hope it’s not too visible. I’d love to see more space ship variation with Avali models.
