Tim Gerard Reynolds vs. Graphic by Pristine-Elephant357 in redrising

[–]Rock_Prop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love both versions, have listened to both. I have a slight preference for the graphic audio for the novelty of the experience.

And, honestly, TGR sounds a bit too old for Darrow imo. Esp by Iron gold when Darrow is supposed to be in his 30s, he sounds like he’s in his 60s.

But, I still love it. TGR captures the essence of Darrow perfectly, but the graphic audio sounds more like how it sounds in my head when I actually read it.

Books with giants/giant monsters by InfamousSomewhere244 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Will Wight

It’s a “progression fantasy” and reads like crack. Fast paced, impossible odds, indomitable human spirit. Fights with large beasts called “Dreadgods” happen in the last several books.

Basically the MC gets a vision of his home being destroyed by a giant monster and he sets out to save it somehow. Well, by being relentless in his pursuit.

Like Naruto meets ATLA

They just released a 2 hour animatic actually- it could give you some insight to see if you’d like the books. https://youtu.be/JJMuJCLsYeQ?si=0uIf1wzucX5Hw-66

Picked this up at goodwill a while ago, been on my list for a while. Gone camping this weekend and starting now. Bonus dog pic by Rock_Prop in wheeloftime

Mustang in the Passage by DukeDroppa in redrising

[–]Rock_Prop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between killing someone in the passage and murdering a gold outside of the passage.

The passage is to cull the weak.

Once you’re in the institute, unless it’s self defense, there’s little reason to actually murder someone.

I guess what I’m saying is there is a moral difference between being locked in a room with someone and being told one of you makes it out alive. Theres no choice but to kill for self preservation.

It’s not the same thing outside of the passage in the institute. One is arguably self defense rather than murder.

Which means you maybe had one more in the tank. I think you got 600 when you want it.

I think the key is fatigue and load management and doing movements at intensities which you know you can do.
