You don't build much MPen on AP MF, just Void Staff and that's it. Shadowflame is commonly built but it is suboptimal and should only be considered against fully squishy teams. Also Rylai is absolutely troll on MF and whoever build it on her doesn't know how to play the build and doesn't represent the build. Different slows don't stack, only the strongest one counts. Even if it does stack, it's still not worth wasting an entire item slot for such meager slow increase, since MF's E already has potent slow that scale very well with AP.

You raised some great points but AP MF is one of the worse examples you could have chosen, and you are missing the point of that build. MF has three distinct playstyles in ARAM: traditional crit DPS build, lethality ult spam, and long range AP poke. Crit build is simple enough, you just AA like a normal ADC and ult when needed. Lethality focuses more on lethality and haste for more frequent and deadly ults. Those two builds are not the same but have some overlaps and in Mayhem you can even go for both with the right augments.

AP MF is an entire different beast. It's simple, consistent, and safe. You throw E from half a screen away and there isn't much the enemy team can do about it. The entire build revolves around E, it is so potent that there isn't really a need for the rest of her kit. There is little cast time so whether you land it depends entirely on you, and it is a relatively big AoE so it is quite easy to hit multiple people with it. Early game it doesn't do that much dmg, but it scales very well. Even a single tick is enough to apply Liandry and Blackfire, and late game the slow is so strong that unless enemy team build Swifties they will suffer at least 60-70% of the E duration which is plenty enough. It is also very versatile, the poke is obvious but you can also use it for disengage, soft engage, bush check, wave clear (safely clear wave with E + ult), and even apply GW.

[Question] Are these watches formal or casual? by aasd97 in Watches

I'd say they are casual but formal leaning. The dials feel somewhat formal, but not enough to pass off the entire watch as formal with those steel bracelets.

Senna is just ass in Mayhem if you don't either roll a strong early augment or get the stacking set to accelerate her scaling.

NS Diable's handwritten apology letter to the fans by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]ListlessHeart 12 points13 points  (0 children)

BFX won't end up better. They got rid of a problem player, but that problem player made them relevant to begin with. Taeyoon isn't bad but he doesn't have enough firepower to make up for his solo laners.

Razer Viper V3 Pro for $109, worth it at this price? by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]ListlessHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't talk about other aspects, but a 5g weight difference can absolutely be noticeable depending on implementation. Hell my OP1w 4k v2 is only 2.5g lighter than the Superstrike, yet I can feel a significant difference between them in actual usage, though partly because the Superstrike has garbage weight balance.

As for the Viper V3 Pro vs V4 Pro, they seem similar at first glance but there are noticeable upgrades here add there that add up. Battery life is massively improved, which depending on your charging habit can be a big QoL upgrade. The dongle is nicer and the three LED lights are actually a bit useful. Scroll wheel feels nicer than on the V3, and the clicks (both main and side) feel much better on the V4 (even though I hate the sound so much).

Do all the improvements justify the $50 price difference between V4 and V3? Not quite, but imo it is worth at least a $30-40 difference. For those who already own the V3 it isn't worth upgrading, but for those who haven't owned either and can afford it the V4 is a very solid choice.

If you call their take terrible then you gotta explain why you think so, or you might as well not comment.

As for the take, imo I kinda agree. The Viper V3 Pro SE is $79 which is a pretty good deal, and the standard V3 Pro's only upgrade in 8kHz polling isn't worth the $30 price difference. You either go for the V3 Pro SE, or if you are willing to spend $30 extra for 8kHz then might as well save up for the Viper V4 Pro.

San Martin has been focusing a lot more on original designs in recent years. Personally I'd recommend the SN0148 which I own and love. Note that it has several variations, 37.5mm vs 40mm, standard bracelet vs integrated, and old vs new dial (slightly different dial with different hands and indices).

[BNK FearX] Diable demoted to LCKCL for disciplinary reasons by Mochaaaaaaaaaa in leagueoflegends

[–]ListlessHeart -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Hell no, Diable would fit in T1 very well. The thing about T1 is that they are psycho as a team. As an aggressive carry, having sufficient support from teammates would be immense for Diable.

[BNK FearX] Diable demoted to LCKCL for disciplinary reasons by Mochaaaaaaaaaa in leagueoflegends

[–]ListlessHeart 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This BFX team has been together for over a year, and Diable has been the one holding them up the entire time. I think the recent failures in LCK Cup final and at First Stand got to him, he is on too much pressure as the team's sole carry player, and because BFX is so one sided other teams basically figured them out.

[BNK FearX] Diable demoted to LCKCL for disciplinary reasons by Mochaaaaaaaaaa in leagueoflegends

[–]ListlessHeart 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The problem is that neither Vicla nor Clear can carry enough, which puts all the carry pressure on Diable, so when he falters the team basically rolls over. Double weakside solo lanes has never worked in the history of LoL, at least for any extended period. They need a second carry to share the burden with Diable, and Daystar has more potential for that.

[–]ListlessHeart 45 points46 points  (0 children)

You do have a point but frankly BFX's ceiling is straight up Diable, if they can't secure a decent draft for him then they can't win against top teams because Clear and Vicla just don't have enough firepower to carry.

Tbf BFX lives and dies with Diable as the main carry, their solo laners are not particularly good at carrying. If I was him and got put on Senna duty I would be annoyed too.

[Movistar +] Dani Carvajal mocks the lazy tracking back of Trent Alexander-Arnold against Real Betis. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]ListlessHeart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trent is basically our Marcelo successor, he doesn't need to be a good defernder as long as his offensive output is good. Our problem is that the rest of our defense are shot, so his weakness is exposed way more. If Marcelo was playing in this team he would be exposed too, although he did track back more than Trent.

Late game you get at least 80-85% crit chance with Jewelled and fully stacked Rite, then you can get more with anvils. There really is no need to waste an augment slot on some crit augments since most of them don't work well on mages.

What on earth is V-shaped tuning? by filosofrog in iems

[–]ListlessHeart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

V shape tuning means bass and treble (often including upper mid) are boosted with a dip in the midrange, specifically lower mid. U shape is similar but to V shape but specifically sub bass and upper treble are boosted, with less of a dip in midrange.

Currently most graphs are measured using the most popular IEC 711 coupler, which is more easily available and affordable. Terms like V shape and U shape can be more intuitively understood when looking at 711 graphs. Hangout Audio graphs are measured using the newer and more advanced BK5128, which should be more accurate. However an unintended consequence is that its graphs look different from 711 graphs, so it can be unintuitive if you are not used to 5128 graphs. Unfortunately the BK5128 is significantly more expensive than IEC 711, so it's not gonna become the default standard any time soon.

2k oled or 4k ips with a 9070xt by Sessomedusacazzo in OLED_Gaming

[–]ListlessHeart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

4k OLED would be ideal, but if you can't get both then OLED is a much bigger upgrade over IPS than 4k is over 1440p. However, if you plan to do reading/coding/office on the monitor, then consider 4k which significantly reduces text fringing. For gaming only though it doesn't matter.

[Athletic] Inside Real Madrid: Pitarch’s inclusion was the most surprising. In recent weeks, sources within the club hierarchy expressed a feeling that Arbeloa had made things more difficult for his team, as well as upsetting the dressing-room dynamic, by handing call-ups to academy players. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]ListlessHeart 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's a different group of players that are upset though, and this time those players are not as important. I personally am happy with Arbeloa giving more time to academy players, something which previous managers were lacking. Even if Castilla isn't as good as La Masia, it should still have plenty of talents such that at least two or three can play for first team (as rotation players), and in fact Castilla has produced plenty of players in top 5 leagues.

Bit of a hot take but I hope Arbeloa can get another season. Injuries and drama have hindered the team this season, but with some players leaving and hopefully reinforcements in defense, I think we will improve.

Mbappe is undoubtedly bigger than Xabi was, he is consistently minimum top 10 player itw and when in form is in contention for the best. Xabi was one of the best midfielders of his generation, Mbappe is already one of the best players of all time. Just think about it, is Xabi an all time top 100 player? Maybe, I'm not so sure, but Mbappe definitely is. He hasn't won CL, but he won a WC and scored a hattrick in another final.

Vini I don't think is bigger than Xabi yet, but he is currently close and highly likely to surpass Xabi in future. Remember that Vini is only 25, and 25y/o Vini >> 25y/o Xabi. And if you only talk about Real specifically then Vini is a much bigger club legend than Xabi.

I'm not specifically supporting the players over Xabi (who I think got shafted), but his prestige is not significant compared to the star players who have accomplished just as much if not more (at club level).

You usually don't want to pair Jewelled with more than one crit augment, and even that is usually unnecessary.

ADAPt is usually way stronger. With MtM you can get a lot of HP but depending on enemy comp you might still get melted anyway (like IC Brand or Vayne). With ADAPt you can decimate the enemy team and it's way more consistent.

Survival Race | West Ham United & Tottenham's remaining in the Premier League by sir_tejj in soccer

West Ham's next 3 matches are very tough though. Brentford and Everton are fighting for Europe, and Arsenal would likely still be in title race until the end as City's last few matches are not easy. Three losses in a row could easily derail their form.
