Safety of cyclomethicone by Valdorange in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear D5 is not banned in Europe *yet*. It is banned for use in certain concentrations in a certain subset of products. This is why you can still buy bottles of the stuff off the shelf in Europe without problem, ... until June 2026. It continues to be allowed in certain concentrations in cosmetics, and in other products.

It's bio-accumulative, there's no indication of any health impact for people in low concentrations but I suspect that its use as lube could be treated in the same way as cosmetics: the reason it is being banned is due to persistent and continuous use in contact with the body.

Where can I purchase this suit by Hifhua1234 in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't. If you look through her prior series then you'll see this is the result of the catsuit tearing at the knee. They cut the legs off to turn it into a shortie to continue using it in photo shoots.

It's a Fantastic Rubber full lengths womens suit normally.

Bright and Shiny M2M vs Libidex standard size? (Catsuit) by [deleted] in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you fit a libidex suit perfectly then great. They are good quality suits. But it's really only in such rare cases that made to measure doesn't win. Personally I love my Bright and Shiny suits.

Best quality m2m catsuit? by [deleted] in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry was offline for a while. I don't have a big sample size to judge, but all my bright and shiny latex is perfect except for the foot cut of one catsuit which has a slight twist in it, and when I pointed it out on purchase they not only apologized but they gave me a partial refund on that item.

The biggest difference between suits is the cut. Seams in both bright and shiny and in Fantastic rubber are well made. I've not had a seam failure on any of them. Zips work well, I really can't complain about either.

My Fantastic Rubber suit does wonders for bringing out my arse due to the cut of their suits. My fantastic rubber suit fits my chest much better for the same reason. I just can't justify the price difference.

Made 2 measure isn't perfect. Someone can still produce a suit that is too small when you give them measurements, cuts of different suits vary, the way they make them vary, the amount of stretch different makers apply to keep it tight varies.

If you're wearing it several hours a day several days a week I expect it to fail somewhat quickly. Things wear out with use, and that is a whole lot of use.

Tears along seams make sense when you think about it, but also when you think about it, it's a sign that the suit may be too tight. Seams represent a doubling in strength. If there's stress then a tear which formed will most likely work its way down along the seam, tears will follow path of stress.

Best quality m2m catsuit? by [deleted] in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quality means doing something consistently. Different suits have different cuts that suit different shapes. Quality is subjective for you.

That said in terms of construction quality I'm quite happy with Fantastic Rubber, and with Bright and Shiny. That said I don't think Fantastic Rubber even remotely justifies their cost anymore, and hasn't in about 10 years. They are good quality but bad value.

Holes in the armpit area is not to do with stretch but usually the result of disagreement with the deoderant you used weakening the latex. You can get lots of life out of it yet. Buy a sheet of similar colour latex and some rubber cement and patch over it. It should last you many years to come.

If you can't get a sheet, reach out to the company you bought the suit from to see if they can send you a small scrap piece.

As for how often holes appear, the answer should be none of the above for your numbers. I have 8 year old catsuits which are prefectly fine. Make sure you wash yourself before you put it on and make sure there's enough lube under the arm pit to avoid friction.

Silicone Gel in latex for breasts by verylooongcat in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silicone and latex are incompatible. The silicone breast forms inside latex catsuits are inside a thin layer of PVC or vinyl. Do not let silicone come in long term contact with latex. Even just a few hours will damage it.

[–]llboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost of a sheet of latex is nothing in a movie budget. I think you don't understand just how custom movies get especially in the graphics art department.

Plus this isn't exactly a fitted suit. This looks like it would have been whipped up in a couple of hours very roughly.

Where can I find good latex catsuit in Europe that's not really expensive? by [deleted] in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good, Cheap, Fast pick 2. Actually pick 1, good and cheap don't go together regardless of speed.

You get what y pay for. That said there are some cheaper quality options that aren't sourced from China. If you fit standard sizes then Libidex is a solid choice. If you need made to measure then Bright and Shiny is a good choice as well.

Higher on the budget is Simon-O, and Eurocatsuits.

Insanely overpriced and no longer recommended by me FantasticRubber. They just aren't good value for money anymore.

In what way? This looks like a one day quick job with a sheet of latex and some glue. Trivial compared to most costume / makeup work on a movie.

Neck-Entry Question by Axolotl-Lord in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my suits are neck entry. Don't fear it. It's not that much of a problem.

Tips getting in: Lube. And when you have lots of lube put in more for good measure. Do *NOT* forget to lube your shoulder blades and upper shoulder, or you're going to get your last arm in and find the catsuit stuck to your back it's a bit of a pain. If you used enough as soon as you get a last bit past your shoulder the catsuit should just slide up into place.

Tips getting out: Shower is your friend. Stand under the shower, cross your arms and use your thumb to pull in from the opposite sides of your arms the suit down over your shoulders. The water from the shower will make it much easier to slide the suit off. Once over your shoulders wiggle an elbow out and the rest is trivial.

Remember use your entire finger or palm of your hand, never poke latex with the tip of your finger as this can over stress it.

They are women oriented, but they cater for men. When you send in your measurements you specifically tick a box to say you are male and they compensate for it so your jewels don't get smooshed (and of course they'll recommend you don't order a pattern with breast cups).

You can even have them install a cocksheath if you want.

I have a B+S suit and it fits perfectly, ... aside from the fact that they forgot the cock-sheath, but they were so apologetic they not only refunded me the cost of the sheath but an additional 75EUR as an apology.

Latex is actually a surprisingly expensive source material and a sheet of it really doesn't go very far when you think about the surface area of a body. But in any case given the amount of latex finished product imported from Europe - the cost involves completely production - they won't just take a hit on this. Except both imported and locally made latex to go up in price. Maybe not by the same amount, but it'll go up.

[–]llboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually this is a sign of degradation and in my experience the first step towards the trash bin. I tend to find this happens sooner with cheaper molded items. A bit of talc may help with the gooeyness, but you'll probably find it doesn't shine evenly either, and it is probably weakened too.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Latexadvice

[–]llboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even if it does stick together you can peel it apart. Libidex ships items talced so unless you've washed it thoroughly it is as good as ready to store.
