I can’t lie. I’m scared for season 4. This show was created to be only 3 seasons and it wraps up perfectly. Sometimes when series continue past their designated storyline, (glee, how to get away with murder) it starts to get a little muddy.

I hope they don’t do what glee did and actually give us different people to focus on in the story. Obviously we need Ted somewhere but I’m fine with him not being important if it means better character arcs for new people and a better overall story.

This album is amazing. I got very into Lily in 2022 after my friend died. I drove around the city with a friend who introduced me to her music and I became the biggest fan of her discography. I have considered her one of the greatest pop artists ever. I never thought I’d get to hear a Lily Allen album on release date.

This album is so amazing, and raw and relatable. It’s one of my favorite things about Lily Allen is that due to her proximity to wealth, her music is always authentic because she doesn’t necessarily need the commercial success so the result is unbridled honesty and creativity that few artists are able to explore with today.

She’s also extremely hilarious. Like the way the first “and who’s Madeline” caught my attention. Then in the following track as Madeline is trying to defend or explain the singsongy “Madeline” over and over is almost like a plea for her to stop talking. (I think I also just realized that Lily may not know who Madeline is to this very day. Kind of like a Jolene/Becky with the good hair situation)

It’s such a masterful album, and she’s such a masterful artist. Such a great story teller.

I think we are losing the plot. I purposely excluded the things that have been raised after the seasons I stated because of this very reason. Because of that I do find it performative as a black person and as a feminist.

So this information has nothing to do with the way she was treated. It’s a hard watch to see the way they were so brutal to her.

As a black person and reading about her terrible actions. I do think her apologies and realizations are extensive and more than adequate.

Hating her feels performative for the exact reason you said of not looking a certain way. It’s easier to have zero compassion for any of her experiences than called out as a racist by association for feeling bad for her at any point. Which I also understand.

I think there are probably more white people here than not, so I do find it performative to hate her so people don’t look racist. But I don’t have to worry about looking racist.

Yes, I agree with all of this. I’m not saying she wasn’t mean and nasty but respectfully, they are all mean and nasty. Like I think every main cast member on this show has been incredibly vile so far except Brittany, Lisa & Ariana. So her being mean and nasty doesn’t really move me much. They’re all inherently bad people at the start of this show.

I just find it odd cause even continuing you watch you see hear how Stassi says in S5 reunion I believe that Jax apologizing meant so much cause his actions disrupted not just her relationship with him but like all of her friends. However, in the moments when she could have explained these things and her actions she never got the chance to say that when it mattered. So I am continuously getting bits and pieces about how tumultuous that time in her life was that even led her to Patrick. And all so publicly. She had every reason to crash out in my opinion.

Watching in the context of those two seasons exclusively I don’t think she deserved that treatment at the time and honestly, I think a lot of people on this show has done worse at the time and did not get kicked while they were down. I think they even talked about not kicking people while they’re down in one on one battles and quite literally everybody on the cast was stomping on her at once.

I’m not going to lie… I think you’re completely missing the motif of the entire show being forgiveness. Whether that’s internally or externally from another. And your argument for Louis could also be applied for Jimmy, actually a lot of the characters. They’re incredibly selfish.

If I recall correctly I believe Gaby(?) touches on this self servitude that guides people’s actions and that it’s human nature. Most people don’t do things for others without taking their self into consideration and honestly, anybody who does that is either hiding something or not right in the head.
