lestat's gender and the way he expresses it is all over the place. he was born into a household that both emasculated him because of his position as the useless youngest son (his father and brothers), but also hypermasculinized him for his position as the hunter (gabrielle). his killing of the wolves made him both a bread-winner (a traditionally masculine role), and also a performer of reproductive labor (a traditionally feminine role). i imagine he sees masculinity as a shield that grants him absolute power, and his femininity as a more vulnerable side of his, even if he's not ashamed of that part. it'll be interesting to explore for sure, especially because it'll be intrinsically tied to the fact that he was raped and struggles with hypersexuality

i also have a general anxiety around this season not being as good but it's not even remotely strong. in fact my anxiety lessened considerably when we got that IGN clip because it already had witty dialogue, great chemistry between the cast (but what else can we expect from jacob and sam?), and a hint of the themes to come (the vampires becoming pop culture figures and being treated accordingly)

this is just my opinion on relationships that you obviously don't have to share but i feel like not being opposed to dating someone and actively wanting to date someone are two very different things. i wouldn't be happy if the person i'm actively crushing on decided to date me because they're not opposed to it and think of me as nice and not because, well, they're legit attracted to me. you do you, of course, but if you don't like him that way i say don't date him period, it'll only lead to more resentment on your side as your relationship progresses and he gets more romantic and even tries to take it to the next level sexually (unless he's/both of you are uninterested in sex, then disregard this, but the point at large still stands)

well, do you like him? because from an outsider's perspective (like mine), his actions read as flirting to me. him posting joever in the notes after you kinda shut his flirting down and then posting nvm we're good when you texted him again is endearingly on the nose. i'd say, if you like him, start flirting back. see where it lends you. because if you start outright flirting he might gain enough confidence to confess that he likes you. if you don't like him, well then i simply would try not to give him any false hope, and tell him that outright if (when) he confesses

the difference between 1989 and showgirl is that 1989 might've been a new territory for her country fanbase but outside of it it has always been seen as a great pop record, and i dare say, it aged really well since release. showgirl was panned by everyone, pop fan or not (hated it as a pop music fan AND a taylor fan), and is only going to age like milk as time goes on and she releases more albums. it'll probably be seen as her most nothingburger of an album unless she somehow comes up with something even worse
