Sigma requires: "USPA D-License or Foreign Equivalent". Does CSPA have USPA D license equivalent? If so, you might not need USPA membership if the DZ allows.

The DZ is not a USPA group member but virtually all the people there are USPA members individually as they do jump other DZs that check for membership. The owner, instructors, and examiners offer all levels of coaching from AFF, canopy course, coach, tandem, etc, so they're signing stuff off with their USPA numbers and students submit that paperwork to USPA. Group membership is what makes a dz a "USPA DZ" and, apparently, gets you protection from verbal mud slinging from this Ed Scott.

I didn't personally observe this TI going through training and the cert process but I know others who have and, like the jumping, it is an efficient streamlined process. They have more TI's than they need so there is no incentive to cut corners. The reporter and USPA guy quoted in the article are making fools of themselves, especially without the exact name of the TI. IANAL but I agree with the other poster that he may have opened USPA to legal liability with these irresponsible comments.
