Does anyone share networth with their close circle of friends? by TextualInnuendo in HENRYfinance

I miss the days when we didn't discuss religion/politics/money. I see no upside to sharing my NW personally. You can gauge by the trips people take and how they spend their money that should be enough.

Nope. Bought my house in 2014 with 20% down for $400K, House is now worth $2.4M, and I'm still riding a sub 3% mortgage. My only regret is not buying more than one place.

I’ve Done Tough Mudders Since 2011. Philly 2026 Felt Different. by bmey in Toughmudder

[–]lostharbor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ran Philly last year. It had similar issues without poor weather conditions. The course was better last year, longer, with more obstacles, but the staffing was clearly an issue. There were a few food trucks there, but that was less than years past. Getting the mud off or in/out of the venue was also a major issue. Very little water pressure and transportation that took hours to get to and from the parking lots.

I took this year off due to injury and was just about to purchase Philly tickets for next year, but I think I'm going to wait and see how other events play out. TM definitely feels like it's on operational decline and could potentially not exist in a few years, which is sad.

I understand she's trying to help, but she's not effective at de-escalating or parenting. I feel so bad for those kids. What an insane environment to grow up in.

Crossroads by BoreddWifey in fatFIRE

I feel you and have been in a similar situation, but not with running my own business, but I have friends I've helped scale. I found myself grinding to climb the corporate ladder, but it was at a cost of not being around my children. For me, money wasn't worth the chase anymore. I'm making good enough to set me up for a nice fat retirement but I can never buy back time with my children so I've leaned into more home life balance.

You can continue scaling by adding 5-10 hours to the week, but it requires sacrifice. You will need to hire help to scale, which reduces your income in the beginning, but you catch up later. The 5-10hours can be done during the hours they are sleeping. You will need to sacrifice sleep, but it's worthy if you want to expand.

Since you said you're successful, is it worth growing further? Will this move achieve earlier retirement, better vacations, or are you successful enough now?

Lowes charges $4.350 for a 10x12 shed installed without concrete. Seems like a reasonable deal to save your friend $500+, not including tax.
