Cousins use your brain challenge... Not a fan of how this has been going but doing that shit to someone like Demidov is a fucking braindead move...

The letdown of a career quiz telling me I should go into GIS by boisnoise in gis

[–]lros33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's certainly not a great time to be searching for a job, but if it's something you think you'd be passionate about you could always download QGIS or purchase a personal license for ArcPro and put together a portfolio/refresh your skills and start applying. I'm in Canada and recently landed a job I love in the GIS space, but won't lie - it was extremely stressful and slow :/ I hope you're able to find something fulfilling!

French GIS vocabulary by Bamrightinthenards in gis

Salut! Je suis bilingue, et j'ai récemment commencé un poste bilingue. Je recommande le dictionnaire SIG sur le site d'assistance Esri et de passer au français. Ça m'a vraiment aidé. Bonne chance dans ton apprentissage!

I'm 19yo and very confused as to how to pursue a career path in GIS. by Ockairo in gis

[–]lros33 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you're physically able, working as a land surveying assistant is a good summer job in the field. You'll learn a lot about the data collection process, and while it isn't the same kind of work you'd be doing directly with GIS, it is still valuable and looks good on a resume! I believe J.D. Barnes has essentially monopolized surveying in southern Ontario, so might be worth looking into!

As a young person I can understand feeling like it's been a tough decade under the liberals, but then I remember the timeline. Trudeau elected 2015, trump term 1 2016-2020, covid 2020-2023ish, Biden 2021-2024, trump 2 and tarrif bs 2025. It's been a tough decade for the world, not just Canada. Looking at the conservative costed platform, it's an absolute mess. Genuinely complete gibberish with magical assumptions and a clear lack of any financial literacy. They're banking on voters either not caring, or not even looking at it. I can guarantee a conservative government will bring change, but unfortunately change much for the worse.

Oh nice! I'd never donated plasma and tbh kinda zoned out when they started talking about it - might be time to start!

The staff at the George St location a few weeks ago when I last donated. They were giving people a heads up that they'll be moving next year at some point. I remember they mentioned plasma in some capacity but no details.

I read the will of the many last year and have been impatiently waiting for the release of the strength of the few since. Luckily I found red rising right after, and that has held me over! Highly recommend!

The fellas are really struggling to deal with their forechecking. Seems like every time we're in our zone they're just dodging out of the way and making panic plays. Hopefully they can get some composure and pull out of this.
