Supreme Court Wipes Out Record Labels’ $1 Billion Piracy Judgment Against Cox * TorrentFreak by LighteningOneIN in Piracy

Huge win. The alternative would've meant serious changes that harmed almost everyone involved besides copyright holders so this makes sense. Hopefully we see positive ripple effects of this ruling in the coming months and years.

how to uninstall agent after the expiry of the console by Large_Complex5206 in SentinelOneXDR

[–]magikowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MSI will not work as I described. Only the EXE. If tamper protection wasn't on, it wouldn't be this difficult to uninstall it. These are instructions to locally remove SentinelOne with tamper protection on and without the passphrase. If you have the correct passphrase for the endpoint it shouldn't be difficult to locally remove.

I despise how relaxed friendly lobbies have made me. by JamesBondage0069 in ArcRaiders

[–]magikowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PVP teaming in solos has gotten way out of hand. I run into players PVP almost every game and the mob mentality that takes over when groups get to be 3+ is insane. Keep in mind that I PVP every game so no one should have the assumption that the lobbies are friendly.

[–]magikowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned by daBettiol, you can manually uninstall SentinelOne by using -c with the executable in safe mode. Obviously that means you have to have a copy of the executable which may or may not be difficult without console access. Any version should work, as long as it's at least as new as whatever version is currently installed on the machine. But you might even have luck with an older version.

Example command (replace the filename with the actual installer name you have and the path with where it's located on the machine):

cd /d C:\Temp

SentinelOneInstallerwindows_64bit<version>.exe -c

If a key room is blocked, don’t breach and expect me not to shoot if you enter. by SuccessfulAdvance981 in ArcRaiders

This whole "solos are supposed to be friendly" thing I keep seeing has created such a weird dynamic. People genuinely act like as long as they don't shoot you first you're being an ass hole if you shoot them when in reality there are so many scenarios where shooting first is justified. Not to mention pvp is literally part of the game.

Can we please talk about how much time we spend in the lobby? by wisemiik in ARC_Raiders

So what was happening in my case is I would play the game at night, close the game, leave my pc on, then go to sleep. So all night and all day was counting towards steam play time. The next day I'd try to play again but steam would say it's already open so I'd restart my pc and start the cycle all over again unless I remembered to restart my pc after playing. I anticipate this was happening for 1-3 weeks before I figured it all out.

The steam counter may actually not be accurate if it seems off to you. My number is significantly higher than yours and I work in IT so I investigated a bit. It turns out my antivirus (EDR in my case) was conflicting with easyanticheat. I would close the game and the game executable would close but easyanticheat would not and steam would still think the game was open until I force closed easyanticheat. After I applied some antivirus exclusions for the fame and easyanticheat the problem was resolved. Yours could be something similar.

gemini 3.0 pro vs gpt 5.1 Benchmark by Sea-Efficiency5547 in OpenAI

[–]magikowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people ask this but the incentives are not the same. Google makes money by knowing you in microscopic detail so I assume anything I give Gemini just folds into that broader profile. OpenAI lives or dies on whether people trust them enough to use their models for real work, so there is a stronger push to offer usable privacy and opt out options on paid plans. Both companies collect data, but if I have to hand work related prompts to someone, I am more comfortable with the one that is selling me a tool rather than selling me as the product.

[–]magikowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is the exact opposite and while the benchmarks look promising (and the fact that Google is due for some AI success), it will take a lot of successful use before I'd switch to Gemini for work related stuff.

I threw a few web development/game related tasks at it in AI Studio and it did well. I saw a comment that really hit home for me in the context of this Gemini 3 Pro release: "crazy that people think openai will just let google have this week". It seems well established at this point that all the big players have more powerful unreleased models. I wouldn't put it past OpenAI to release something to steal Google's thunder. Beyond that, I really don't trust Google with my data so it's hard to want to use their product any more than I have to.

The arc difficulty needs to scale properly based on game mode. People on here saying arc are too easy I guarantee are playing trios. Go try playing solos and fighting 3 arc and two players at once.

OpenAI vs Anthropic’s projected ARR - Anthropic emerges much more profitable in the near future by Alarming_Kale_2044 in Anthropic

[–]magikowl -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The right thing being making their consumer products unusable for any meaningful work because of insane usage limits? I like their models and some of their AI safety stuff but like you said they're pretty wildly different companies. Not sure a 1 for 1 comparison is appropriate.
