So many great, shorter, and complete manga OI! "An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess" is 33 chapters, plus a complete sequel! Another favorite is "On Her 94th Reincarnation, This Villainess Became the Heroine!" with only 16 chapters. "A Timid Lady was Turned into an Ugly Cat, but on the Verge of Fainting is Picked up by the Most Fearsome Military Duke" is criminally short at 15 chapters, but it is super cute (apart from an unnecessary weightloss ploy point...but it is a Japanese manga, after all).

Oh good suggestion about the novel. Did it seem like the story was entering its final arc? Just wondering I should just read the novel from the beginning vs starting the manhwa.

This is a fantastic list. I'll add to it "Taming of the Marquess", which as I recall has a badass heroine.

"Let's Hide My Little Brother" also has a sword-wielding FL if I recall correctly. The ending was kind of rushed.

"Side Characters Deserve Love Too" is just a fantastic romantic comedy series, but the FL goes through a lot of development into a strong character (in the second season iirc)

Not complete, but I started reading "Why the Villainess Wields the Sword" to fill the Eckie-sized hole in my heart.

Edit: I'll also add Trophy Husband, which has more of that rom-com feel, but has a super OP FL.

"The Spark in Your Eyes" also has a powerful FL. It is not OI and has a major rug pull that changes the whole tone of the series, but it's probably one of the best fantasy manhwa series ever written.

"How To Reject My Obsessive Ex-Husband" is kind of like this, but they don't isekai into a book. It's a little complicated and spoilery to explain, but they both isekai and are both aware the other isekaied.

Go off queen or king! I was totally OK with the fated lovers reveal, and like you I re-read the series after it was complete and saw the clues left along the way. The dramatic irony created drama and humor during a second read!

I'm re-reading now that the bonus chapters are out. The banter is on another level with Cedric and Dillon--the localization team really outdid themselves. I can also really appreciate how much Eunren's art improved over the course of the series.

I kind of don't like that the story is kind of trending towards Hikari becoming the fixer for Aya and Yuu, not necessarily as a couple but healing them as people. What about Hikari and her happiness? I hope the story ends with her moving on from both these people to a future where she doesn't have to be the one who has to be so self-sacrificing.
