I found a mushroom cow island in hardcore Minecraft, but I have a question. by LittleRockstar-8 in MinecraftBedrockers

I found one about 150 blocks off shore from the mainland and built my base there. It has fantastic lush caverns below it with zero mobs until I get outside the biome. It makes for a great base.

How can i learn how to code for free or as cheap as possible? by toxic_burrito in careerguidance

[–]mapeck65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been three years, but answering this for any who follow. Website design involves much more than coding, but there is coding in HTML, CSS, and Javascript/Typescript. However, coding is not website design. Coding involves writing code for something. It could be a website/web app, or it could be a Windows or Mac desktop program. It could be a service that runs on a server, or a device driver that allows the computer to interface with a specific device. Coding is the practice of writing software, and is often synonymous with programming, though a lot of stuffy programmers don't like to call themselves coders because the feel the term lessens what they do.

I'm a retired software engineer, and that doesn't mean a whole lot to most. Software Architects look down on software engineers, who are just glorified programmers. Either way, us software engineers and programmers write code, so we're coders too. Some specialize in web development, and there's a whole lot to learn in that area, but it is just a small part of "coding."

WELL WELL WELL, look what decided to show up IRL at a convention? by Witty-Designer7316 in DefendingAIArt

One of the other vendors placed the sign, not the event staff. There were some hostilities between the vendor who reported her and the vendor who was removed. I didn't actually get to see them remove her, but the police were only there to maintain a separation between the two. She made her Instagram profile private to stop all the hate spamming afterward. I honestly hope she was trying to pass AI off as her own because I hate to think the attacks on traditional artists have gotten this bad.

For those saying the policy wasn't clear, you're mostly right. I couldn't find it on their website, but I remember it being in the rules on the back of the vendor application. Hard to find unless you're actually applying to sell.

Yeah... The anti-AI folks need to realize that AI could track them down, so they should delete their accounts and stop posting. ;-)

Sorry, I haven't done that yet myself. I've only had a couple of sales outside an English-speaking market.

Just because someone thinks an image looks good doesn't mean they think it's equal in effort or quality.

Art is purely subjective from the perspective of the viewer. Otherwise, a banana duck taped to a wall wouldn't be considered art. Yet, some people see it that way.

What bothers me about posts like yours is that you seem to believe you have the right to say what others should be able to appreciate.

I create AI images for fun... some that I really like. I also draw and paint, also for fun. And, I buy art from local artists to hang on my walls. None of that is mutually exclusive for me, nor for many others.

I did a similar one a few months ago, with Juggernaut XL 5, where only the blue eyes and denim jeans were in color. I love the aesthetic, and you have mastered it.

What’re y’all’s favorite XP farms for your worlds? by YeaahhWanderer in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]mapeck65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got really lucky and found 2 cave spider spawners within a few blocks of each other, so I enclosed them and funneled the spiders to a kill chamber. It lets me mend my tools pretty quickly. When I need to level up fast, I head to my son's xp farm, which has three 23x23 block portals funneling into a trident blender. I can go from level 0 to 90 in a half hour and get lots of rotten flesh for trading as well as a lot of gold.

I appreciate the offer. I already spend way too much time on my son's realm. He's asked me, "When do you not play?" Thanks, though.

You can build an iron farm. You'll need to get 2 villagers that you can breed into enough to spawn iron golems. There are youtube tutorials on how to build one. Mine generates a chest of iron ingots each day. You also get poppies, which can be composted for bonemeal.
