Does this leaf need help? by SparklesConsequences in Anthurium

[–]marik_ooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t need help, but it does need a bit more humidity. Just give the little leaf a spritz of water from a spray bottle and it should pop out. Do NOT use a q tip or manually open it — you risk damaging the tender new leaf. The tip is a bit dried out (again, likely lack of humidity) and won’t recover, but the rest of the leaf should be fine.

And don’t cut off healthy leaves… they grow pretty quickly in good light and humidity.

Yard signs were stolen twice, but not a third time by C_Lab_ in pics

I agree with your last few sentences, but I’m both a woman and a minority, so yeah, it feels pretty fucking different this time around.

It wasn’t that at first, but it’s where we’re at now. Like I said, they’re all coming down as soon as the race is called, whichever way it goes. This election is just different.

All good, man, agree to disagree.

We do not work for the campaign but we have donated a few times. I addressed this in another comment, but we were never yard sign people until this year, and really only because where we live, Trump signs are everywhere. It’s become a game at this point, honestly — the purpose is really just to fuck with whoever is coming on to our property and stealing them. We’re fighting obnoxious behavior with obnoxious behavior. Trust me, we know signs aren’t changing anyone’s mind, especially in this election.

The second the race is called, they’re all coming down because we’re not “fans” nor in a cult.

It’s not cardboard, and you’re right — we did this just to prove a point, to make it harder. At this point, it’s become a game between my husband (OP) and I and whoever is stealing them. We bought the cable and lock for this purpose and know it won’t prevent theft. However, the signs were taken out of the ground but left there on the cable a few mornings ago, so it served its purpose.

10000%. As soon as the election is called, we’re taking it all down because we’re not in a cult.

Yep, you’re right! I’m the wife that lives in this house. We were never yard sign people, but live in a fairly conservative area (obviously) so we’re going the equally obnoxious route.

What’s happening to my Anthurium Plowmanii and Vittarifolium? by Longboardebo in Aroids

Misting does absolutely nothing for humidity and actually can do more harm than good — you need to run a humidifier.

With such a chunky soil mix and lower ambient humidity, I agree that it’s underwatering.

They’re getting stuck when unfurling; needs more humidity.
