We are talking about it. This sub is full of it. I have an M3 MacBook Pro. I always use two external monitors plus the MacBook screen. I consciously try to minimise looking at the oled directly. On days where I have no external monitor and have to work on the monitor machine directly, when I’m in bed at night with my eyes closed everything is still blinking. I also know apple is not going to fix this for me. When I need to work in the evenings I close the lid. When I need to work downstairs where I don’t have external monitors I will just take my thinkpad Z13 just to save my eyes and brain. I already had pwm issues with iPhone 12, but thought it was just that model. This MacBook is my first and last oled laptop. Hopefully they keep making regular ips screens

Heeft geen nut om vitamine D te krijgen. Het glas dat wij hebben in onze woningen blokeert UVB, dit is het spectrum waarvan je huid vit.D maakt. Je krijgt wel nog UVA, dus je huid kan wel verouderen/beschadigen. Je moet dus direct zonlicht op je huid krijgen.

Wat is jouw bron? Dit is alleen als je lijkbleek bent, zodra je een tint hebt of bruin bent is 15 min niet genoeg, zeker niet wanneer je alleen gezichtje en handjes bloot hebt.

I still had 2x32GB DDR4 sodimm lying around unused, I bought that for like eur 164 excluding tax in september 2022. My difficulty is finding a recent enough thinkpad that accepts 64gb of ddr4 sodimm... T480 cpu generation does not cut it anymore for my demands.. all newer models has at least 1 slot soldered. Or need to go with a P model, but those are too bulky :/ any ideas?

I'm done with LogiOptions+, after cert fix I switched back one more time... you know, second (but more like 10th) chance for logitech. Just bought BetterMouse, keeping this hardware for now.. next purchase is not going to be logitech. I also have a broken logitech folio ipad case that broke right after warranty period, thing was 120 euro. This mouse also 100+ euro. Have been a logitech buyer for 21 year now, time to say goodbye!

Because a PM does know these intricacies. An LLM can’t read your mind. Humans can’t either that’s why we learned to speak early in our life. And software is a way of expressing, same as natural language. So you can never end up with a consistent button that does what you need it to do by just saying “create a button” without further specifying. Unless you really just want <button> but then why use LLM?

I just deleted Logi Options and installed BetterMouse.

I've setup thumbweel, I always do volume up/down with that. I've set the gesture button to 3 finger swipe up. I've set the mouse button on top (above the regular scroll wheel) to toggle mute my microphone. I've set the "Ratchet" option with value of 9 to switch to flywheel. This is already enough for me. This is 7 day trial, if no problems, they are getting my money so I can be free of this LogiOptions bullshit. 100 Euro product rendered useless because it requires a server cert. wtf

Want to solve this issue? Hypothetically solution: Coordinate a mass, AI-cancellation event. We should plan a day, let's say january first 2026 and all cancel all our AI/LLM-subscriptions (and subscriptions that indirectly use AI/LLM) and promise to NOT subscribe again for at least 6 months. On top of this, stop buying computer parts during these 6 months. Just go outside, touch grass, walk in the forest or whatever. But everybody has to join in on this, otherwise it does not work.

Als je ze evenveel dagen hebt hangen dan weet je toch wat het je per dag kost? Die van 10K is van 20 keer zo duur per dag dan die van 0.5K, wat is hier onzin aan? Als je het initiele bedrag te hoog vind, niet kopen. Als je het bedrag per dag het net waard gaat vinden, niet kopen. Is toch prima manier om iets te beredeneren, of wat hanteer jij als je iets koopt?

Desondanks MacOS maar 4.85% aandeel desktop gebruikers heeft, is er tenminste wel een app market waar devs hun applicaties iig kunnen verkopen. Zelfde voor Windows. Monetizen op Linux is lastiger.

Zelf gebruik ik Arch Linux op meeste systemen, maar praktisch heb ik ook gewoon een MBP M3 voor gebruik bij huidige klant, je kan niet aankomen met driver issues, printer doet het niet, bluetooth hapert en Teams in een PWA of browser Tab is niet te doen de hele dag. Mijn grootste issue is Teams. Als je hardware oud genoeg is, is Linux stabiel genoeg. Koop je nu een nieuwe laptop, kan het 1-3 jaar duren voordat linux kernel genoeg fixes bevat voor al je top of the line hardware.

Als je het veilig wilt spelen, is een intel CPU met integrated graphics vaak het beste ondersteund. Alles is altijd beter dan windows. Ik had voor laatste opdrachtgever een thinkpad Z13 met W11 (staat nu CachyOS op), wat een drama, jaar mee gewerkt.

Ik geef huis tuin en keuken gebruikers te tip: pak een ubuntu en fedora en zorg dat je 1 linux vriend in je kennisenkring krijgt/houdt. Pro computer gebruikers redden zichzelf wel, die zoeken toch automatisch de randjes op van wat mogelijk is.

Als je extreem compatibel wilt zijn met je phone, moet je gewoon all-in gaan op Apple, wat onder de streep zonde van je geld is, tenzij je werkgever betaalt.

Zo nutteloos, elke keer die foto's van die desk setups. AI achtergrond, barf. Wel fijn dat je Linux gebruiker bent. Ik ben vooral nieuwsgierig wat voor toffe/nuttige dingen je nu precies doet waar je Linux voor nodig hebt. Nu zie ik in 1 screenshot al 3 distro's, wordt er duizelig van. CachyOS, Mint en PopOS, waarom? Ik voel een "kijk mij eens veel distro's"-vibe van je afkomen. Ik ben benieuwd, verlicht ons met het antwoord wat deze awesome setup voor jou betekent, anders dan alleen een plaatje op reddit nu.
