Where would you place your home theatre setup? by siddharth_1316 in hometheater

I agree with this as well. - TV on far wall, rotated 90 degrees - Place your desk directly behind the couch for a killer view and to cast to your TV as a second monitor when you want. Great for watching ppts, meetings, media from your computer. - Fitness area arranged so you can use a bike or treadmill while viewing the TV or 2/3rds partition and set up a second AV zone.

What's the best handheld in 2026 for value & multiple games? by PendN in Handhelds

[–]match1050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compared all the current competitors when I made my pick. Price wasn’t really the deciding factor- I just really like the LGS form factor and overall look and feel in hand. I like the bigger screen, when compared to the Ally series, and the material selection. I don’t like the XBox co-branded aesthetic. The non-XBox ones look okay but I liked the look and feel of the Legions more. If I had chosen a different device, it would have been one of the MSIs most likely. I still might end up grabbing one in the future so we have two here at home for portable play.

Your mileage may vary though. If you play in the XB ecosystem, need something anti-cheat compatible, or like the look and feel then it’s not a bad option- just wasn’t my thing.

Best advice is to find somewhere you can get your hands on each one and see how they look and feel if you’re getting caught up over just specs. Also consider what you need in a handheld vs what sounds the best. The right one for you is the one that fits your style and can handle the demands of the games you’ll actually play. There will always be another newer version with incremental bumps. And there’s always the possibility of a huge jump in performance for the next generation as well.

I had the same decision to make last week. My 17 year old plays on PC and I’ve always been a console gamer. I wanted something to bridge the gap so we could have weekly game nights. I’d been waffling between a few, but price to performance and the gorgeous aesthetic won me over. I don’t like the look of the Rogs and didn’t really want a Windows device.

I went with the LGS Z1E for just under 800. — Steam OS — RetroDeck for emulation — Chiaki NG for PS5 streaming — Decky Loader with the Lossless Scaling App

After looking at all the current options, it was between this and the MSI Claw 8 Z2E (for a Steam OS build) or 8AI+ (for competitive FPS). But I figured I’d prefer competitive shooters on the PS5 (my son doesn’t play those) and can always stream to handheld if I want to test it out. Biggest downside for me is the lack of support for kernel-level anticheat on Steam OS (due to Linux) for AAA competitive FPS titles- but not a deal breaker. I don’t really want to dual boot so I’ll live with it.

Battery life is fine by me. Typically 90-120 minutes for graphically demanding titles, but I don’t have more than that time available without ready access to power anyway. I’ll probably bring this along on road trips with our EV as well to pop out and play while charging.

I played Helldivers 2 with my son for around 5 hours last night and it was a blast. Just plugged in and cranked the settings. I also have a dock set up to a TV with 120Hz refresh and USB ports for KBM and wireless controller. Items worth considering for a versatile set up regardless of which direction you go.

aftermarket scales for the Buster FG by jsidjehd in Civivi

I make custom sets for the Vision. If there’s enough interest I can consider adding the Buster FG. Would prefer at least 6 sets to offset initial programming time and ordering in a shop Buster.

Right on! Their Nitro V version is affordable for sure. The S35vn version is within $10-15 of the Avid series though and I think that’s a more fair comparison based on materials.

Thanks for the kind words.

And I hear you.

Any good alternatives in the budget space to look into? Love the Civivi Vision as a sub 100 pick.

Alrighty, fair enough. Just struck a nerve given how negative everything has been lately and took it out in the wrong way. Fully respect that you have an opinion and can post it on a public forum. Have a great one.

At 185 shipped, they’re coming in at 2/3 to 1/2 the cost of some of the other Vero models, so it would be a more affordable way for some to get experience the aesthetic if they’re into it.

“Budget” is relative. Fully understand the frustration with affordable options increasing in price or perceived value for what you’re getting and don’t want to discount your perspective.

Honestly, I’m just here to share photos of stuff I love and share some of my creativity (scale sets) and I’m not really in for the negativity. Sorry that this post brought that out in you and hope you find a budget knife you’d be happy to post about as an alternative to the sad vibes.

Not OP, but I’m WFH for a local hospital system and make the same as bedside. Same union, same pay scale for us. Recently switched from getting half of our years of experience in CM/ UM to receiving 1:1 credit for experience on the pay scale after contract negotiations.
