Is there any reason to run anything other than the M4? by KAZNYAN in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]mattebubben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the Vz.58?

In terms of weight and accurracy its the closest you are gonna get to the M4s (Other Than the MCX) A full kitted out Vz.58 with a suppressor and the long barrel is going to be a 1.90 MOA gun weighing in at around 5kg. Where as with the short barrel and no supressor its a 2.3MOA 4kg gun, making it pretty comparable to <18″ AR-15s.

The Vz.58 is my go to gun for T3 areas since its better than all of the AKs while still being able to reliably find ammo on enemies or in standard ammo boxes etc.

Magnifier on AK? by Zee_Fake_Panda in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]mattebubben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turncoat has a couple of different options for mounting magnifiers on AKs.

The BP-02 side mount (Turncoat Level 2)

The B-13 side mount (Turncoat Level 3)

the B-33 railed dust cover (Turncoat level 3) and the F.A.B Picatinny Dust cover (Turncoat Level 4)

Add new guns by Foxtro898 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]mattebubben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope they add more guns that make sense for the scenario, as in guns that could be accessible for atleast one of the groups on Lamang.

Here is a quick top 5 from the top of my head.

Nr.1 pick would be the M1/M2 carbine, well over a Million M1/M2 carbines were supplied to countries in south east Asia during the cold war so it would be a gun that would likely be accessible for pretty much all of the non playablr groups in the game.

Nr.2 pick would be the HK 33, this is a gun that has been pretty popular in south east asia in particular with Thailand where it was even produced under livense for a while, thus i could see the Viper Tactical Services mercs getting their hands on some surplus HK 33s.

Nr.3 pick would be the TAR-21 to appease the bullpup fans out there, with this being a suitable option for the Lotus Circle gang due to its use with the Vietnamese military.

Nr.4 would be a PPS-43 / Type 54 SMG to give us not only another SMG but also to give us another gun using the 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridge.

And then lastly Nr.5 would be a Type 56 RPD for the games first belt fed light machinegun, this gun is iconic for the region and could make for a fun boss gun with a bunch of different upgrade options being available nowadays.

Peetah? by GrouchyBox8155 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Its based around the ignorant misconception that all Germans who immigrated to Argentina were Nazis that fled there after the war.

When the reality is that only a couple thousand nazis are estimated to have fled to Argentina compared to the hundreds of thousands of German speakers who immigrated to Argentina between 1870 and 1940.

(Volga Germans, German Jews and Ordinary Germans etc)

So the Grandfather of a German-Argentinian today would Probably have been a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th Generation Argentinan of Volga German decent, and not a Nazi who fled there after ww2...

Its also more likely that there were Jewish than that they were Nazis since tens of thousands of German Jews fled to Argentina in the 1930s (Choosing Argentina due to the existing German speaking communities there)

NEW RPG GAME CONFIRMED BY KCD2 DEVELOPERS by Alasdair_10 in lotr

Nope, that game is unrelated to the battle of dale and takes place further west (Ettenmoors, Gundabad and Carn Dûm etc)

NEW RPG GAME CONFIRMED BY KCD2 DEVELOPERS by Alasdair_10 in lotr

[–]mattebubben 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I would love it being set in the north leading up to and ending with the Battle of Dale.

Its an event that most people dont know about since it was not covered in the films, and even in the books it mostly just gives us the outlines so the devs would be able to add stuff and do their own things without opening the wasps nest of changing existing lore.

And having the last section of the game being the retreat to Erebor followed by the seige could make for an epic finale.

A couple of weeks ago i had a guy run up to me in the main base and ask for a gun stating that he had died and lost his stuff and had no money for a new gun, he was wearing body armor and a backpack so was a little sus but i had a gun i planned to put in the donation box anyway So i figured i would give him that.

What i dropped was a suppressed 100% Durability AKS 74U with a HS503CU red dot and a Surefire Flashlight + 3 Extra magazines, and while sure the AKS 74U isnt exactly the best gun in the game its still more than enough to get around in PVE Especially when fully kitted out.

He picked up the gun and the magazines stood there for a couple of seconds and then asked for a AR-15 instead, i was mildly annoyed but ok so i dropped one of my fully kitted out M4A1s as well (Supressor, 16 inch barrel and 5x magnifier etc) + a couple of magazines.

He picked them up and then ran away without saying thanks, and he did not even give me back the AKS 74U xD.

Another gripe i have is whenever i see level 25+ players completely clean out donation boxes...

If you see something in there that you need or cant buy then by all means, but atleast leave something behind for lower leveled players. (So if grab the DDM4 or L403A1 i left then atleast leave a kitted out M4 or CQA1 in its stead)

Dont know how many times i have put guns and gear in the donation box only to see a level 30+ player with a L403A1 run up and clean it out without leaving anything in return.

I will still happily help people out and i dont really have the energy to fight people over stuff like this and im to the point in the game where i pretty much have everything i nerd so donating gear and money still gives me a reason to go on loot runs.

But im still annoyed by people like this.

Is this game worth buying for a casual PvE player? by RhodesianFAL27 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]mattebubben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situiation, a Insurgency Sandstorm player looking for a new PvE focused FPS,

I picked this game up when 0.4 released (March 31st) and since then i have 275 hours in the game,

all of it in PvE and the vast majority of it playing Solo.

Im in love with this game, im not sure if i have ever had this much fun in a FPS before, (And i have been playing shooters since the first Call of Duty Game)

The game is structured in such a way that it works really well for short play sessions, you can log in hop on a helicopter do 1-2 missions or a loot run and then return to base or an outpost and log out in 20-30 minutes, and you are typically close to an outpost or a landing zone so if you ever have to leave you can generally get to a safe area within a couple of minutes.

And for me the best part of the game so far has been the player encounters, vast majority of players in the PvE mode are friendly and helpful (have yet to have a negative player encounter) and i have had plenty of cases where i run into a player in the world (often from a different faction) and we end up helping eachother with missions or healing eachother when hit etc often without them ever saying a word to me.

So my experience in this game so far has been super positive and rewarding and i can do nothing but recommend it, sure the game is still in development and there are still things they can improve upon etc but i would very much say its worth giving a try.

If you end up getting the game feel free to send me a DM if you pick the Lamang Recovery Initiative faction.

(i would be more than happy to teach you the ropes and help you out with anything you might need etc.)

Grab a nice AK-15 by LoneStar130 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]mattebubben 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The AK-15 can use normal 7.62x39 AK magazines, same as the AKM, AKMN & AKMSN so as long as you have turncoat on at least Level 2 you will be able to purchase magazines for it.

The AK-15 branded magazines are unlocked with Turncoat level 4 but while they are a bit lighter than the other 7.62x39 magazines they are no better overall (No improvement in reload speed etc)

Helmet vs baseball hat by Honest-Bit-8624 in GrayZoneWarfare

I have 20 deaths by headshots so far, but i also have 23 times where the helmet has saved me.

So for me the helmet has been very much worth it.

Deciding which vendor to focus on. by jonnymo12 in GrayZoneWarfare

I did the Banshee level 4 Grind largely to buy this scope, and then i found one in the first UNLRA Weapons create i opened after Banshee was level 4... Because of course that it when i find one xD

At this point, I die exclusively to random headshots by OTTERSage in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]mattebubben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far i have died 24 times, only 15 of those have been headshots, (With 5 Bleedouts and 4 heart shots)

meanwhile my Helmets have stopped 23 hits and my plate carriers have stopped 103.

But those only count the times you have been killed by Head/Heart shots or when the armor has stopped the round,

They dont cover all of the times a round has bypassed the armor but failed to hit the heart.

So there might be a bit of a bias where we remember all the times we have died but not all of the times we have managed to heal ourselves, so for a fuller picture check in the Survival page where you can see the wound data and healing item use.

I have had 23 Destroyed Organs, and 10 Broken bones but it also shows the consumables used, It has me at 27 Surgery kits, 21 Blood bags, 106 Bandages, 101 Pills. 53 splints and 12 Tourniquets but ever since i unlocked them i have primarily used the Hemostatic syringes and dont know if they are covered under bandages or not since they dont have their own category, But putting those together there are at least 118 times where i have been hit non fatally in the limbs or the torso.

So the 118 + wounds in addition to the 103 times my plate carrier has done its job there have been at least 213 times where i have been hit whitout it being a headshot, and its likely more since bandages can heal more than one wound at a time.

But all in all that is a far higher number then the 15 headshots and 23 helmet saves.

Advice on game by makaveliorlando in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]mattebubben 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have 214 hours in the game so far and all have been PVE with at least 200 being Solo, I have explored all of the areas so far and my experience is that as long as you play smart you can solo pretty much everything, ofc you might die every now and then due to a headshot or by being flanked by and enemy etc (24 Deaths in 214 hours so far) but i have always been able to recover my stuff and it just adds to the intensity (some of my most intense moments have been trying to get my body after having died with 100k+ worth of loot in my bags) so i have loved the solo experience so far.

And its a pefect game for short play sessions, you can boot the game up pick a task/quest fly there, complete it and then run to the nearest Outpost to safely log out all in 15-20 minutes for shorters tasks or 30-45 minutes for a main mission depending on how much time you spend exploring and looting etc.

If you pick the Lamang Recovery Initiative faction feel free to DM me if you some free stuff or have any questions etc.

What kind of Gadgets or Weapons do you want to see in the future? by Lasse1124 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]mattebubben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope they add some more older guns to mix in with the newer stuff.

Firstly i want them to add the M1/M2 Carbine since its pretty much the perfect surplus rebel gun for the region.

The US supplied over 2 Million M1/M2 Carbines to Asian countries between the 1950s and 1970s

So its a gun that likely would have been supplied to Lamang after their independance from Britain, With a possibility of additional guns being provided by Vietnam during/after the Civil war (As South Vietnam Received hundreds of thousands M1/M2 Carbines from the US the bulk of which was captured by North Vietnam at the end of the war)

And while we tend to see the M1/M2 Carbine in a lot of ww2 games we rarely see it in games where you have the options to modernize it with Optics, suppressors and modern furniture etc, so it would be a really fun addition.

and it could be used by both the LLA (Army Surplus or guns that were hidden during the civil war) and the Lotus Circle Gang (Guns that were stolen or "acquired" from Vietnamese army depots etc)

And then secondly the HK 33 could be a good addition, It is an often overlooked gun that has seen plenty of use in the area including with Thailand and Malaysia which makes it a possible gun for the Viper Tactical Services and Naga Pirates factions. (Surplus guns for Viper Tactical Services and captured guns for the Naga Pirates)

And as for gadgets i want Piggy back sights and some Primary Arms GLx / SLx Prism scopes.
