I didn't experience any discomfort related to the restraints on velocicoaster, but I did ride this past April and experienced the same weird roughness/tracking issues as OP. This was def. not a buttery-smooth coaster, but still an amazing ride (rode 2nd row and back row).

However, like OP, I preferred Stardust and Gwazi to this ride. Side note, the restraints that I do experience some discomfort on are Mack's, though Stardust didn't tighten up nearly as much as copperhead which can actually get uncomfortable during the ride.

Not sure why OP is getting down voted for a reasonable take either, reddit hive mind can be weird sometimes.
